I'd prefer to just know their weights personally.
I've always enjoyed seeing male weights as part of the stats, checking to see how their bodies are filling out after drafting etc.
If the ladies ever want better pay I think they just need to suck it up and share their weights. If there's a fitness issue they'll need to be accountable for it. Men too.
Just to be clear It was the AFL that decided to not list weights, not the players. They didn't ask for it, the AFL made the call.
The AFL made this call after a number of AFLW players were subjected to some vile vitriolic abuse online. Weights were listed and pathetic keyboard warriors would suggest that the weights were false (lies) and the players were just fat and somehow by extension ugly etc.
The abuse was based in the majority of cases on a players body shape. If they didn't look a certain way they were fat. Fitness or lack of was rarely if ever mentioned. That's the issue here.
So rather than the players needing "to suck it up and share their weights" I'd suggest the haters rather than body shaming and abusing have the courage and make it about fitness
The players are more than willing to be accountable as they should be but make it about fitness not their shape or their weight
