Let’s just offer the *checks notes* pick 18 that we got from them to get her back. How could they turn down such a lucrative offer for a player that just got best on ground in a grand final……

Wow.

Bang bang bang.

Just what we needed and hopefully it yields the results we want.

Great stuff.

Is it great that we have sacked a coach a few months after resigning him?
Or incompetent.

It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

It was an incompetent decision that has now been rectified. The alternative of keeping him on is far far worse.

It was incompetent to keep him on when it seemed untenable.

Good decision to move him on. Shouldn't have extended.

Doubt she'd want to come back and who could blame her

And I doubt pick 4 would get the deal done anyway.

I’d like them to reflect on that decision and make sure it’s never repeated.
A shocking decision which was not only patently obvious to everyone in its ineptitude but also cost us $ to pay him out.

It's a combination of both. Incompetency as well as cluelessness by whoever stupidly re-signed Ferguson. But finally now the right decision to sack him as well as Sheahan albeit far too late due to the previously forementioned incompetency and cluelessness of those in control of our AFLW program.

Ferguson should have been sacked at the very least 18 months ago if not earlier. His "gameplan" was so flawed it wasn't funny which is why he never coached us to a finals win. Plus, he was regularly outcoached on gameday even by newbie coaches of wooden spoon teams as illustrated in the first round of the previous AFLW season where we lost to Daisy Pearce coaching a bunch of teenage girls at West Coast. Think of our men's team's win over Carlton this year in reverse. It was embarrassing how hopeless a coach he was.

ps. Was it you HRT who called him a PE teacher? A very apt description. Ferguson was totally out of his depth as a coach.

In the end, we have sadly wasted the best years of Conti and Brennan just as we did with Richo in the 90s and 00s and for effectively the same reasons. An indictment on the Club that goes up to Board level given year after year at AGMs they would fail to address questions and concerns about our AFLW program.

Video of our new recruit Georgia Stubs.

---------------

Stubs joins the Tigers after being drafted to North Melbourne in 2023, with the 30th overall pick.

Hailing from the Eastern Ranges, she is praised for her pace around the football and ability to explode from stoppages.

The 20-year-old is also handy across half-back, but unable to make her AFLW debut, due to a dislocated ankle, suffered in 2024.

Standing at 167cm, Stubs is also known for her athletic ability, high-level contest work and willingness to move across the ground in support of her teammates.

Her tackling was a highlight of her junior campaign, and her blistering speed was on display during her Draft Combine, recording an impressive 3.12-second 20 metre sprint.

AFLW List and Recruiting Manager, Trent Mosbey, lauded Stubs' "competitiveness and intensity", and expressed the excitement to welcome the youngster into the Swinburne Centre.

"Georgia has developed significantly over the past two years, within the highly-respected North Melbourne AFLW program. We feel Georgia is ready to take the step in her development since being drafted.

"Georgia has displayed impressive character traits and very driven and motivated to takung her career to the next level.

"We are excited to welcome Georgia to Tigerland."
