Chris Scott in his post-match presser sooked about how last night's game should've been the season opener, as well as complaining about the MCG surface.

------------------------

Chris Scott has put the MCG surface on the agenda, suggesting the variability in hardness is an issue, and strongly hinted the ground should not have hosted a major concert so close to the season.  @7afl

He tries to have it both ways too. He'll preface his complaint with the old, "it wouldn't be right to complain about this, particularly after losing, but ..."

He wants to feel superior on the one hand for not complaining but then also get out his complaint.

In the end it just makes him look like a sour idiot.

I agree re: the concert.

Far too close to the AFL season IMO.

As a pure spectacle then yes the game last night would have been much better choice for the 1st game of the season

Our games was saved by it being close. But as a spectacle it was painful to watch for a lot of it. The defence side which I actually love was brilliant but the atrocious skill errors made it bloody tough to watch

A total of 16 goals isn't great footy

Is there anything more glorious than a Chris Scott whingefest after a loss?

Geelong coach Scott calls AFL 'compromised' competition

You walked away with pick 7 from a dodgy salary dump trade.
You got 1st round compo for Steven Motlop.
You have a pronounced home ground advantage unavailable to any other Victorian club.
Compromised? You bet! And your club does pretty well out of it...

In fairness to Chris Scott he was asked about the wildcard games to decide 7th and 8th on the ladder

He is against it and as part of explaining why he referred to the competition being compromised highlighting how the draw works as well as a few other things

And on that and the wildcard round for finals he is 100% correct

He wasn't sooking he was simply giving his opinion on the wildcard concept

Poor form by the media for making it more than it was. And the person who posted that tweet, would suggest he actually listen to all that was said  ::)
