Hypothetical - Caracella or Hardwick?
« on: July 21, 2017, 11:41:13 AM »
Hypothetical - yesterday another team approached Blake Caracella and offers him the position of Senior coach at another club, at market value and a bit. Let's call them North Melbourne  for the sake of the hypothetical. Caracella approaches you, the person in a position of power with regard to who gets the coaching contracts and appointments at Richmond. He says it is a financial decision for him, and wants to coach at a senior level in 2018.

However for other reasons (knowledge of playing group, comparative list strengths) he is prepared to stay at Richmond provided the money is matched and is appointed the senior coach position for 2018. North Melbournes offer is fina but only on the table until 5pm Saturday. You also know through intelligence that no other club is interested in Caracella for next year.

Richmond may or may not play finals this year but has a reasonable chance of finishing in the 8. RBasically the true situation of today's reality.

Who do you choose today and why?

You must make the decision today.  Provide your justification in reply posts.

Youd tell Blake to cool his heels and wait till the season is over as we're still in this season up to our eyeballs.

Youve just lost Caracella under the scenario.

If you are Benny or Peggy you would say the best of luck at North for next year as to accept his proposal is admission that the contract extension was a monumental blunder.

If it's up to ME I'd take Caracella in a heartbeat.

Any rational thinking person with an ounce of logic can plainly see that Hardwick has the wrong philosophies in regards to coaching & he's continuously contradicted himself throughout his years at the helm.
Who can forget, "unless you can win your own ball you won't be playing in a Richmond jumper!", & the most recent joke, "some teams are high tackling teams, we aren't a high tackling team!"

The fact that he allowed the loss to the scum cheats in the EF is unforgivable and the fact that he allowed the dees to beat us in the Tommy Hafey tribute game.  :banghead what a idiot.

No plan B, stupid comments about his sex life, no real analytical prowess to the intricacies of the game, has favourite players that contradict his own philosophy, during his tenure we've had the worst player development in the competition. Had the worst hand picked list of assistants ever assembled lead by his best mate. Hellbent on Clarksons gameplan that even Clarkson has evolved from.
Despite telling us how much they've learnt from close losses we still lose close games after once dominating in that game. His side is still the most mentally weak team in the AFL.   :banghead
He said he had the blueprint to success but haven't seen a single finals win. He said that even if we didn't see the ultimate success after his coaching tenure the club would be better placed to see success. Well if you believe that your delusional.

Who knows if Caracella is the answer but so far the signs are ok.
Highly regarded at Geelong. ✅
Brought in tackling and pressure. ✅✅
He's Italian. ✅✅✅

At this stage almost anyone would be a better option that Dumma ....except maybe Lade.
The club that keeps giving.

This "worrying " about losing someone is how Collingwood ended up with Buckley.

That worked out well .

When did Caracella become the new messiah  ??

Since he came to.the club and has been widely credited for our improvement.

And also since the voting is 70% in his favour over Hardwick irrespective of how the season plays out.

Pretty simple.

Whats your counter argument as to why Hardwick should be kept?

Caracella and Hardwick are premiership team mates at Essendon.  Wonder if that chemistry is one of the reasons why Richmond is performing at a higher than expected standard this year .
