No way no Balta should have been dropped he can give Nank a chop out so basically no one can now.

Im assuming Vlastuin, Short and Markov will be responsible for their smalls because Broad and Grimes  who normally play on smaller players will have their hands full with DeGoey and Mihocek.

Shame Hardwick cant see past his favorites and kept Balta and gave Ross a run instead of Shatama pantsama Ellis. They probably should have given Stack a go as well instead of Markov.

So you want a guy who is 1 game in from a serious knee injury to take centre square bounces?

Sure he can do some ruckwork at throw ins in our forwardline but would you really want him doing much more than that?

Nank is going to need more help than that.

Yeah, who cares about form when it comes to an incredibly important match  :lol
Why don't we drop your man Short while we're at it and give Ben Miller his first crack at senior footy. After all, he has some height! Maybe he can pinch hit in the ruck.

FFS what is Hardwick doing  :banghead

So how would that work?
Nank is sitting on the bench after rucking most of the quarter and a goal is kicked. Who takes the bounce after that?

I’m going to be odd one out and say that I agree with the thinking but hate the execution.
Nank on Grundy is going to have to work.
I’m okay with Balta being replaced by Georgie - our f50 pressure was horrible last week. Buckley said it himself - our ability to force turnovers from our f50 was our one wood until about r15 last year.
We need the 3 amigos and Lynch will have to pinch hit in the ruck.
Both underdone and a risk imv
Olly is a huge gamble but actually we do need to replace Bachar with our best half back runner so he gets the gig.
I get the need for another runner over Rance as we have the luxury of defenders who are able to play talks and small.
But!
That runner should not be Bellis despite him appearing to be the best option on paper.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

So which Ellis are we gonna see?

History suggest more of the same with this pea heart.

I’d be expecting more run and carry at a minimum from him maybe some long kicks to advantage quickly deep into the forward 50 and not the stupid backward chipping sideways nonsense we’ve come to expect from him.

....... one can only hope he’s finally come to his senses.

Yep, it's going to be 27 degrees tomorrow. The team that handles best and outlasts the other in the warm conditions will win. It could make the ball slippery like last week though from all the sweat.

Weird changes but it wouldn’t have been done without heaps of thought.  Will back the coaching team here.

Think they brought in Markov/Ellis for the extra run which we could have used last week.
