Did everything to lose that ...Marsh treating a road like a minefield in the middle overs - then getting bowled out with the tail trying to every ball for 6....predicted Starc would bowl 5 wides at some point in the last over and sure enough second ball.. :lol :facepalm :banghead :facepalm..way closer than it should've been.... :shh

Aussies just got over the line by 5 runs  :phew. A great game for a one-dayer but 22 wides and some dumb deliveries almost threw it away.

NZ 9/383 ..... Zampa 3/74, Cummins 2/66, Hazlewood 2/70 (9), Maxwell 1/62, Starc 0/89 (9), Marsh 0/18 (2).

That win should help us now get into the semis with the Poms, Afghanistan and Bangladesh left to play [touchwood].

Top 4 is set MT

Hopefully the poms find a way to finish last. That would be nice

Wonder what our mate Piers is thinking at the moment

Laughed when someone said post-game that with NZ needing 6 runs off the last ball, Starc should have gone the underarm for old times sake .

Hopefully the poms find a way to finish last. That would be nice

They'll also likely miss qualification for the Champions Trophy next year given they need to finish at least seventh with host nation Pakistan qualifying automatically. :shh

Glenn Maxwell won't play against England after falling off a golf cart.

Glenn Maxwell has suffered a second freak injury in less than 12 months after it was revealed a golf cart mishap will rule him out of Australia's World Cup match against England.

Maxwell was standing on the back of a moving golf cart in the dark after a round at Kalhaar Blues and Greens golf club in Ahmedabad when he lost his grip and fell off, suffering a concussion and some facial bruising.

No one else was hurt in the incident.

South Africa flogged the Kiwis overnight. So, the Aussies are now up to third.

England sits a conspicuous last of the 10 nations but Joe Root, speaking on the eve of England’s date with Australia, offered little respect for his opponents.

“Man for man I'd have this team every day over the Australians,” the former skipper told the BBC.

I commented elsewhere that their egos are so enlarged they don't even feel the need to be competitive to be satisfied.

How embarrassing for a country.

Enjoy your participation award and go fondle yourselves to say thanks.
