Our Rucks including our Captain
« on: July 09, 2022, 07:22:18 PM »
Have simply been horrendous this year. No way to sugar coat it they are worst in the competition by a mile. Absolutely useless around the ground and easily the worst hit outs to advantage. Laughable.

Set up at stoppages have been poor for the past two years. We don't protect the defensive side at around the ground stoppages (another failing of Aarts and Castagna ::) ). At centrebounces our sweeper often gets sucked into the honeypot leaving his man free or space free out the back. You get away with it against opposition's with average rucks but elite rucks like Witts will make you pay.

Pretty harsh on Nankervis imo.
Way i see it he is not going to dominate ruck contests with his height but he is there to nullify and make sure the ball gets to ground where he then does his best work.

I think Soldo is the one who is there to try and give us an actual advantage at ruck contests with his extra height but it does not happen often.

Tend to agree.  Bank plays the 70’s game plan and has the worst against frees in the league which needs to be fixed
Anyway both won’t be playing for the next 4 to 6 weeks  so get ready for the moaning about Ryan who is not ready for AFL

Is Ryan even going to make it anyway?

Gee the loss of Chol hurts this year.

We should have picked up a mature depth ruck in the off season with Soldo returning from serious knee injury and Nank both undersized and often injured during H&A.
