Sonsie not playing on ball is another coaching stuff up - Jack Ross all over again...except it's Thomson Dud keeping him out of the guts instead of Trent Cothin...  :banghead

AFL umps boss explains big rule change — and how 11 examples will be called moving forward.

https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-2024-afl-umpires-boss-stephen-mcburney-explains-how-incidents-will-be-umpired-moving-forward-11-examples-holding-the-ball-crackdown-video-afl-360-latest-news/news-story/dfb7cdfceb2179789c5cb859c8dfbbaa
This is even more confusing than before!  If that's possible?
In the Naughton example - there was no prior opportunity but the tackle was held for a reasonable time so it should be HTB, but, Naughton was injured in the tackle (so go on about the tragedy of it & how we don't like to see that) so no penalty should be applied ... WTF?!  He was also facing north on the incoming tide ... so does that make it HTB then?
So, in other words - if you're getting your hair cut you move your hat down onto the lower peg.  Its really quite simple!  If you aren't getting your hair cut you move your little brother's clothes down onto the lower peg instead ...   :huh
Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!  Loud, proud & dangerous!

Plays in the middle and generally plays very well at VFL level. For whatever reason he’s been shunted to the half forward line in the seniors and with the current state of our team is getting very limited exposure to actually influence anything down there.

I feel like he’s almost being punished for having a good outside game given he is a very classy kick, whereas players like dow who have more limited strengths based on inside work get priority to play in that position.

The new HTB interpretation doesn't apply to Collingwood and especially Nick Daicos  ::).

Yep and it was also straight after Sanders got pinged for minimal prior. Pies are protected species.

ps. Here's the vision of it for those that didn't see it.

Seriously how can the interpretation of HTB change so drastically in season like it has.
What a shambles the game has become
