Richmond Horror Show stats (Fox Footy)
« on: June 26, 2021, 12:33:14 AM »
Horror shows all over the park and the stats back it up :help

Defence:

We had 79 defensive half chains (defensive clearances) yet we scored just 5 points from them.

So we were gifting the ball back to St Kilda.

St Kilda were scoring every second time they went inside our D50.

Since Round 7 we've become the worst team in the comp. for giving up opposition scores per inside our defensive 50.

Stoppages:

Scores from stoppages:  Rich 8  StK 33  = -25 pts. Our worst differential for the season.

We've only been in the plus for scores from stoppages 4 times this year and only once since round 7.

Turnovers:

Scores from turnovers:  Rich 14 pts. That's our worst for the season too by a fair margin.

We've lost all 5 games where we've scored <50 pts off turnovers.

We're typical strong at this (ranked #2 in the AFL). So it was a complete reversal to be so bad at it last night.

Forward line:

We had the same number of Inside 50s (44 each) but only kicked 2 goals and lost by 40 pts.

We couldn't find or hit a target inside F50.

---------------------------------------------

Jonathan Brown says we're unbalanced as a side. Too tall and especially so with so many young talls. We're struggling to get speed in the game being so tall and can't bring that chaos footy we're renowned for. He believes we're in trouble as we're now going taller and playing a mark-kick possession game to protect our leaky defence. He can't see Coleman-Jones playing in the same team as Jack and Lynch. Brown believes we need to go back to playing smaller and quicker.
