Played dumb football.  Didn't play wet weather football. Kick by Grimes in the fourth quarter was putrid and cost us a goal and then Nick gave away two stupid free kicks. Game set match. Bitterly disappointed

Nathan Brown analyses how the Bulldogs dominated the clearances against the Tigers, as questions are raised over Richmond's midfield.

Dimma did not do himself or the club any favors with this petulant attitude after the game.

Coaches will stand up for their players.

We copped this rubbish about Lynch before after the 2020 SF against St Kilda.

Don't blame Dimma for having a gutful of it from the media.

One of the reasons our first quarter was so pathetic was us expecting someone else to a job.

https://twitter.com/laceoutofficial/status/1644592851647602688

I was right behind this. Tim English was free in the pocket for about 30 secs. Our players were pointing at each other to pick up English, but we totally disorganised and couldn't find a free player. Balta then went to go to English before the kick came in, but only got to halfway there before turning back to mind one of the Dogs' tall forwards. This left the shorter Pickett at the last second as the nearest Tiger to try to man up on English and by that stage it was too late and English marked the incoming pass with ease  :P

Honestly it's nauseating.

Especially when you look at the comments about that StK marking incident like fmd can't you see he was pushed in the back? He was going for the effing ball

We were pedestrian and passengers at times not chasing or manning up pressure etc along with our skills and disposal that is amature like at times.

Good God people whack the Club for not standing up for our players and club when we get shafted

Dimma takes a journo to task for the witch-hunting of Lynch by said media and he gets whacked

I applaud him for his comments in his presser.

The main reason Lynch is off to the tribunal is because of media hysteria. Kudos for Dimma standing up for his players

Where tf was nank?

Probably rooted from all the other work he does.

Not sure people have it right blaming Nankervis for our midfield woes.

Stats stats and damned lies but imo he has been huge in a lot of areas including h/o.
Up to the end of the third round.

He is 3rd for hit outs which shows he really is competing but how effective his hit outs are i will leave for others to decide.
Have stated a few times  for me at 199cm he is always going to find it hard to be precise and dominate h/o. More a role of just competing and try to negate the oppo ruck. He is never going to be a dominant tap ruckman especially at centre bounces.

What he is not doing is taking marks around the ground and he is not taking contested marks but in this when it comes to ruckmen he is not the lone ranger way too many have 0 to just 2 contested marks for the first three rounds.

Nankervis for marks is actually equal 9th with just 7 in three rounds!!! that stat just shows how few marks are being taken by a lot of ruckmen not just Nankervis.

He is equal last, ranked equal 18th with zero contested marks which is a big worry but again the numbers are a concern overall with so many ruckmen with 0 to 2 cm in the first 3 rounds so he is not the lone ranger.

Thats the bad. The good well as stated till the end of the third round . People need to weigh up are they prepared to forgo this by dropping Nank.

H/O - 3rd. Okay for me he is there to compete and get ball to ground not actually win a lot of ruck contests.
Tackles - 1st
Dis - 3rd
Cl - 2nd
C/P - 2nd
1% - 1st

Reckon they show just how good he has been after competing the ruck contest.

Clearly observation says we want him be more effective with hit outs but thats asking a lot when he is giving away so much height most of the time.

What has to happen is he starts taking more marks and becomes a down the line outlet as well. In the past he has had this in his game we need him to get back to it.

Personally watching him i have thought him very good in so many areas but like others get frustrated with the things mentioned.
I think our mids and set up is wrong rather than blaming nankervis for all of it.

A disclaimer here i have rushed thru this and may have missed the odd stat but generally it has to be close.

Broadsword

I can see that. But I'm also starting to wonder what happened to 'Humble and Hungry' Dimma. 2023 seems to be 'Surly and Satisfied'.
