As expected, West Coast has been handed Pick 2 as compensation for losing free agent Oscar Allen to Brisbane.

I still have Sharp ahead of Grlj based on National Championships Sharp avg 27 touches where as Grlj avg 17.

However Grlj is probably the mould of player we need more than Sharp. I wonder if we take Sharp and Grlj over Robey.

Yes TL.
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

Taylor at 3 is more of a reach than robey imo. Way too much emphasis on combine

Are Taylor and Sharp slow or what?

Why would we take Grill over those two?

CDT will be gone. Not so sure about Robey.
Sharp has the best football credentials in this draft.
Gryl has no vowels

Did Sharp skip the combine on purpose? I know it’s reported that he was unwell but it wouldn’t surprise me if he was advised to skip a combine which seems to focus on areas that are not his strengths (speed, athleticism) so as to not decrease his draft value.

On the other hand he could just be legitimately sick but I know it’s happens a lot in the NFL. they recently brought in a rule in the NBA where players couldn’t skip the combine it would become ineligible for the draft. Not sure how the rule applies when the players are legitimately sick or injured.

I am confident.

They really need rucks/forward options.

We mostly need ruck options.

I'd be keen on CDT but I think they need him more.

I can't see any family who wants to be drafted supporting their son skip the combine in an attempt to help him get drafted. There is no scenario where Sharp isn't drafted. The only possibly reason they may do this is to slide him down the draft where one of the SA clubs have a pick, a bit similar to the Heppell injury cloud rumour but this would be pretty extreme. There are other ways like chatting to clubs a desire to stay in SA if possible. I'd be really surprised if there wasn't a genuine reason why Sharp couldn't make the combine.

1 million % he is getting drafted, but could a poor combine showing take you from the 1-5 pick range to the 10-15 pick range?

Just a conspiracy theory but like I said it happens a lot in the NFL.

This AFL rule change helps the six clubs who traded out their first round picks across 2023 and 2024.

2023: Brisbane, Fremantle, Port Adelaide, Richmond

2024: Collingwood, Geelong
