Incredibly mischievous by young Xander. He knows it will only be for 2 seasons because one tassie comes in no Vic based club will be playing games down there, to suggest otherwise is pathetic.

Maybe but it’s actually a very good idea. $1m per year to play what is effectively a “home away from home” game compared to playing at Marvel seems too good to be true. Look at what the deal did for the Hawks and they got 8 games per season at $9 m per year over 25 odd years.
That’s over $200m to the Hawks over that time and would have gone a long way to bank rolling a far better facility at Dingley than the one we are getting at Punt Rd.
The Tigers should be looking more at these “best practise “ arrangements whether we are a top 8 side or not.
On field success and commercial viability are not always be completely linked

It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

I get your point but as soon as the Tassie team comes I  the Hawthorn/Tassie govt deal ends. So the Hawks are going to have to find a new major sponsor.

I'd argue once our redevelopment is finished it will be a good as Dingley if not better as we would have been able to keep our traditional home,

Will say it again once the Tassie AFl side c0mes in no Vic based tea, will be playing home games in Tassie

Don’t mind it at all especially when it’s trading one of our marvel games. Should keep it going for as long as we are rebuilding, extra $$$ will come in handy for the redevelopment I’m sure.

I'm not sure why people keep saying it is replacing "one of our Marvel games"

We have only had 1 Marve home game per season for over 5 years now

This deal replaces our 1 Marvel home game.

Because we play there more than once every year.

Not home games.

I'll be glad to play there less too.

We have no control over away Games at Marvel. We have to pay away games there.

This is solely about the 1 home game we play there a year. For the next 2 seasons it is gone.

Correct

So we have traded one of our games at Marvel. The only home game.

That's why everyone keeps saying we're giving away a Marvel game...

I was hoping for more than $1mil / game but it is what it is and I agree it's a good deal.

We don't get crowds at Marvel, we don't win there very often either, so we may as well ship it off to Tasmania and pocket the cash for the PRO job.

You reckon Hawks isn’t as good as ours or the same?  :rollin
Might want to have a relook at what they are building.
On the subject of “a deal” being done. The AFL have no credibility in keeping to their word. They flip flop with the best of them.
