Maybe but it’s actually a very good idea. $1m per year to play what is effectively a “home away from home” game compared to playing at Marvel seems too good to be true. Look at what the deal did for the Hawks and they got 8 games per season at $9 m per year over 25 odd years.
That’s over $200m to the Hawks over that time and would have gone a long way to bank rolling a far better facility at Dingley than the one we are getting at Punt Rd.
The Tigers should be looking more at these “best practise “ arrangements whether we are a top 8 side or not.

I get your point but as soon as the Tassie team comes I  the Hawthorn/Tassie govt deal ends. So the Hawks are going to have to find a new major sponsor.

I'd argue once our redevelopment is finished it will be a good as Dingley if not better as we would have been able to keep our traditional home,

Don’t mind it at all especially when it’s trading one of our marvel games. Should keep it going for as long as we are rebuilding, extra $$$ will come in handy for the redevelopment I’m sure.

We have only had 1 Marve home game per season for over 5 years now

This deal replaces our 1 Marvel home game.

Because we play there more than once every year.

Not home games.

I was hoping for more than $1mil / game but it is what it is and I agree it's a good deal.

We don't get crowds at Marvel, we don't win there very often either, so we may as well ship it off to Tasmania and pocket the cash for the PRO job.

Because all MCG tenants have to play home games at Marvel to ensure the AFL ,ears some stupid contract...has been like that since the dump was built

Let's see...

Dingley has a MCG size field, admin facilities, a pool and in indoor training sports hall. It also has "community facilities". Currently they are fundraising via selling seats in the new stand for $600. They will play "most" of their AFLW games there but not VFL games because of their alignment with Box Hill

After we finish we will have a MCG size ground, a new state of the art stand, new admin facilities, a new pool, new facilities for our AFLW players, new facilite for our community programs (KGI, BH Foundation etc). Undercover car parking for over 200 cars.

We will play our AFLW &VFL games at our home and finally fans will proper amenities, brilliant amenities

And above everything we stay in Richmond our home. We are not moving 30, 40, 50 kms away
