Just watching a replay of AFL360 - the incident with the runner standing on Kingy is being investigated by the AFL, it doesn't fall under the MRP umbrella hence why nothing about it in this arvo's list of reports/penalties

Gerrard said it's being investigated and sould be resolved sometime tomorrow with a penalty being handed out

Give the scumbag a life ban no place for a trainer to be assaulting opposition players in any sport. Throw the book at this individual. No need for it in sport.:wallywink

On a side note, could King have been sanctioned in terms of games if he got up and snotted the germ?

Demetriou on Footy Classified tonight said the Melbourne runner stepping on Jake King incident has been referred to AFL Football Operations Managers Mark Evans to deal with. Demetriou said he didn't like what happened.

Just chuck the fine on their 'I.O.U' tab with everything else they can't afford to pay at the moment.

Demons runner steps into trouble

The AFL has launched an investigation into why Melbourne runner Andrew Nichol trod on the foot of Richmond's Jake King during a half-time melee at the MCG on Sunday.

While the Tigers did not call for any action, the AFL match-day manager asked for a probe.

''Yes, we are looking into it. There won't be a resolution today, so it will either be tomorrow or Wednesday that we will have a decision,'' AFL spokesman Patrick Keane said on Monday.

''A runner can't touch an opposition player in any circumstances, and all officials should stay out of any contact between rival players.''

King was wrestling with Melbourne's Jordie McKenzie when Nichol stepped on King's left ankle as he tried to pull the young Demon free. Both players were fined for engaging in a melee.
