A bit of a surprise but Reece is being brought back via Coburg this week.

Hasn't played for awhile.

Smart move I reckon, can cap his game time coming back via the VFL, wouldn't be able to do that the same at AFL level.

I didn't mean I was surprised Reece is being brought back via the VFL; more that I was suprised he is playing at all this week. I thought the club, after saying Reece might get up this week, decided they weren't going to play him this week and wait until after the bye. Maybe I misunderstood and they meant AFL wise he wasn't going to play until after the bye.

Maybe thier logic (and I use that term loosely ;D) is have him play this week in the demadning VFL and with the bye next week see how he pulls up (eg any soreness etc)

Maybe the prediction of rain and therefore a soft ground sounded more appealing than a hard subiaco oval, to have your first run back after a foot injury....
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Funny I was thinking that if it is too wet (Coburg Oval has terrible drainage and turns into a bog) they may pul him out of the game altogether

We really miss the depth this kid adds to our on field midfield. At the moment, without Tuck, Ellis and Conca, too much is left to too few.

Reece Conca also escaped unscathed in his first game back for Coburg after a niggling foot injury.

Conca's efforts in the midfield were recognised in the Tigers' 10-point win over the Bendigo Gold.

Conca on RSN

AUDIO: RSN Breakfast caught up with young Richmond midfielder, Reece Conca, on this morning's program, who returned from injury, and joined his side in the impressive win over Adelaide on Saturday. The Tigers continue to improve and now sit inside the top eight ...

* We’ve just slowly progressed over the last few years.  We’ve had the same game plan implemented, but with that maturity, we’re playing more consistently week to week. I think that’s really helped us and a bit of added depth as well.  We know that guys who are coming back into the side can do their role for the team, and do it well.

* Everyone likes a bit of consistency and I think we’ve just found that little groove.  We’ve just got to keep growing on that. We’ve got a bit of confidence as well, which helps win close games and big games, like we did on the weekend. I think it’s really going to help us.

* It was just great to run back out there with the guys and getting a win was an added bonus. I’m just really happy to be back and I’m glad the coaches gave me the opportunity to get back quickly.
