Goes alright doesn't he, good on both sides and moves really well, could be our smokey, I still think we will pick up Cockshell and look at rookie listing a few of the others if they are available.

I think Alwright looks like one of the best prospects, but not sure if we have enough of his type at the moment
I'd still hope we have a good look at Sibosado & Gaertner, perhaps Cockie as a rookie

I think Rockliffe will be an Eddie Betts type, maybe ok at AFL level, but will never be an automatic selection in the 22 of a half decent side. Both are small, not fast and kicked plenty of goals at U18 level, but just aren't the type to be a solid player a level up.

I think alot of the players left out are very similar to the ones that were taken early but not to the same level. Once the clubs have topped up with these players the one left are budget tyhpe players. But hey Foley was one of them...... :-\

Who are the 5 players battling it out for the last position we have available- the pick to be taken in the PSD.

I hope we take a bottom age kid and Id be looking at a bottom aged key forward.

Anyway, if anyone knows who the 5 are can they tell us or atleast PM ... or is that a state secret as well lol.

simpkin certainly does look very good.  clean skills, good mover, has a bit of height and has good hands.

i really dont' think we'd take cockshell with PSD, more likely with a rookie draft pick.  If we had intended to put cockshell onto the main list, we would have taken him in the national draft as he's already been down at training for a while and we konw what he's got to offer.  we passed because we wanted to look at a few young kids train first hand

actually wouldn't mind him as a rookie.

big bloke (204cm, 100+ kg)
can go forward and kick goals
skills actually aren't too bad
lacks a bit of fitness apparently but should be able to work on that

From Inside Football:

ANDREW BROWNE - Murray Bushrangers
DOB: 7/7/90 Ht: 202cm Wt: 106kg
"There has been a bit of interest in Brownie. The modern day ruckman has got to be pretty athletic and Andy is a bit slow, but he reads the play very well, he plays behind the ball well and takes a pretty good mark. His kicking needs to improve:" - Murray Bushrangers coach Phil Bunn

I know you can't judge these kids on 3 min youtube footage but both Simpkin and Cockie appear to have far better skills and movement out of the ones we've been linked to. Although Simpkin in that video looked a bit like Danny Meyer  :eyebrow.

At training today we had five U18 Victorian kids, a couple of Burgers and 2 indigenous kids including one who only arrived in Melbourne at 11.30pm last night after travelling from a place 200km from Fitzroy crossing.

Of those there I noticed Klemke was there and I asked Francis about another but I won't post his name as it hasn't been mentioned publicly. I also know the name of that indigenous kid from up north-west too but won't post it either although I think he's only down training for the experience as he's very small. His name would make him a cult figure though. I'll need to check my photos for the other youngsters. I didn't notice Cockshell but may have missed. Liddle and Fort are still training with us. Carnell trained on Monday I was told.
