Thanks OE, sounds like it is a bit hot on the show tonight.

One final thing, Thomas said there's an argument for draftees to not play AFL in their first year and for them to just concentrate on developing their game and building up their physique. He did it with Luke Ball who was doing his Year 12 at school in his first year at St Kilda.

Thanks OE, sounds like it is a bit hot on the show tonight.
As usual a lot of the 'heat' is contrived but Brayshaw pretty much put Caro to the sword tonight to the point she was pretty much speechless and back in her corner by the end. The other 3 mind you pretty much stayed out of it so Brayshaw wasn't bombarded from all sides. The problem with attacking Brayshaw now is he hasn't been around long enough as president to fail to deliver off-field and he knows how the media works. Also North supporters love him for stopping the GC move so there's no internal pressure within North despite them having won just one more game than us, them playing shocking footy, and having their coach jump before he was pushed. I guess no one cares lol.

Brief summary

Hutchy said to Caro that there's a conspiracy out there that Caro is running down North to boost Richmond's chances with Buckley. She said that's insane Hutchy as she has no connection with Richmnond and her dad was president a whole 24 years ago.

Anyone ask Damien Barrett the same thing?

I didn't think he put Caro to the sword. I thought he came across as pretty lame on the issue of the millions future fund he was going to set up. I also thought Lyon jumpingin and prattling on about "you don't speak for the public Caro" when she and Brayshaw were "discussing" his conflict in calling games came across as Lyon sticking up for his mate because Caro was going a bit to hard on him  ;D

Brayshaw was certainly fired up but it was a bit of a non-event, like you said Mr One-Eyed no one cares  :rollin

What was fun though was this morning on SEN with Patrick Smith taking the big stick to Eugena Arocca (sp?) - great stuff

Caro, Hutchy, Lyon and Cornflakes coming up now. Thomas will probably bag us.

No public decision at Port tonight on Mark Williams after a 9 hour meeting  :o. Press conference tomorrow.

Hutchy received a phone call from a 'source' later in the show that said Williams has been reappointed. We'll find out if he's right tomorrow.

Caro apparently has some coaching news tonight. Hutchy also said he's going to ask Caro later if she's behind the Sheedy push at Richmond.

Showed footage of Mark Blake pulling out of a contest. They are saying he is 3rd best ruckman now at the Cats

I just hope those rumours i heard of him on here dont come true.

Caro very adamant Sheeds will not coach Richmond. Hutchy said the only chance this appeal for Sheeds will succeed if via public opinion. Caro replied the RFC after all its gone through and the mistakes made does anyone really think they will fall for this 3-card trick. It won't happen and Caro then said "I know it won't happen" which pricked the ears of Lyon and Thomas. Hutchy then agreed it won't happen. Caro brought up it's not about Sheeds' age either. It's about how every Essendon player you hear from over the past 2 years has said how happy they are now to know what is happening in terms of gameplan etc in a Tuesday meeting whereas under Sheeds they would be turning up not knowing what was going on. How there was a falling out with the players at Essendon. How Sheeds didn't even get close to getting the Melbourne job after being dumped by Essendon. This push is being lead by Francis Bourke and KB is leading it publicly. It won't happen and to her knowledge in a private meeting around the time Wallace's time was about to end March told Sheeds he won't coaching the RFC while the current Board and admin are there.

Caro also said Eddie was wrong. She said Eddie said the call for Sheedy to be coach would occur after round 4 versus Melbourne and it didn't happen so he was wrong. She doesn't take back anything she said about Eddie's comment after the Carlton game.

Another boardroom battle looming??? Only way for past players collective to get Sheeds on as coach is to spill the board....

Richmond also got a "Good Call Bad Call" about us playing a home game on the Gold Coast which we lost. Caro defended it as the Club got $400k and unlike Carlton who should have never lost to Freo, Richmond is nowhere as good as Adelaide and wasn't going to win so it didn't matter.

Caro also didn't rule out Mark Williams still leaving Port Adelaide despite Port wanting him to stay. She thinks he'll stay but there's an uneasiness between the Club and Williams over non-money aspects of his new contract. If Williams did become available and wanted to coach elsewhere he'd have to go through the lengthy process at Richmond. Hutchy said North aren't interested in Williams.

The decision on the new coach will be made well before the AGM in December and even then only 3 directors are up for re-election. Remember Wallace was appointed before the 2004 election fracas. The past players would have to either pressure the Board to resign en masse (ain't going to happen) or call for a EGM.
