Whitfield is built like a twig. We need grunt and maturity. Prestia needs to be a target for this reason.

Guys like Lids who are 28-29+ are in danger of missing whatever 'window' we supposedly have if we keep bringing in B and C grade hacks and skinny teenagers - so either recruit with him in mind (IE chase a flag now while he can contribute) or trade him while he has currency.

Prestia will probably sign on by mid season ending any speculation. Would be a massive pick up though, and exactly what we need, another elite midfielder.

Need to be convinced of O'Meara's fitness first , prefer Prestia atm for that reason or Heppell if he's still really disgruntled with Essendon- and with both he & Hurley being classified as free agents I'd grab them and try and trade for Tomlinson as well, in fact I still would even if we just got Hurley & had to trade for one of the GC mids.

Obviously we need a decent ruck as well.


Also quite interesting that Brandon Matera wasn't picked for GC last week......wanted a release last year and will probably leave at the end of this year - if he stays out of favour for the season he might come relatively cheap. Serious talent.
