Bulldogs have named their new fitness guys.

Graham Lowe is High Performance Manager and has worked with Scottish Rugby, New Zealand Rugby and an America's Cup ocean racing team.
Andy Burnett is Strength and Conditioning coach and has worked with New York Giants and New Zealand and Canadian Olympic athletes.

Reading the reports they are incredibly well credentialled from outside Aussie Rules.
From watching International Rugby, Scotland has been transformed in Lowe's tenure from the usual lethargic British lumps to international standard players - incredible results.
Before the naysayers start posting, note that this is Rugby UNION, not league. You know the All Blacks game.

Bananas.

Dogs are just a sorry footy club.

Cheap fixes mean poor results.

OK Dooks I'll call it . CRAP.
So Lowe was National Fitness Advisor for New Zealand Rugby Union and Head Strength and Fitness coach at the All Blacks for four years and three years at Scottish Rugby but a WB supporter and a couple of Kiwi rugby supporters say they "are bot held in relative high regard'. So if you're telling the truth (very doubtful I know) they know better than the head of Kiwi and Scottish rugby?

Just for the sake of improving the knowledge of posters on this site, WB have
1) a new $31 million facility at Whitten Oval
2) a sports science partnership with Victoria University which gives them
3) use of an altitude training room to complement
4) the cryosauna they have for ice treatment

BTW they went to Athletes Performance in 2008 but haven't bothered to go back.

High altitude blah blah blah... Done wonders for the pies .... Not.... Over rated myth... Sheet helps  athletes train for an event... But useless for a season

Tend to agree with X and Coach on this one.  I don't think an annual session of altitude training is really that beneficial for a season of professional sport like AFL.  But, if you have access to a facility like RT has described the Bulldogs having, then that's a different kettle of fish.  I believe ongoing altitude training would have some tangible benefits and give a club a small leg up if they had permanent access to it.  Where I do think the major benefit to Collingwood in their annual pilgrimage to Arizona comes from though, is in the learning and bonding that comes to a team when placed in a challenging 'camp' environment.  In my opinion, this is far more real and important than the short term effects gained by altitude training itself.

I thought they really ran out games well this season and looked like their premiership window was well and truly open
