Have to play Hampson against Goldstein

It's an absolute must, the NAB Challenge game against North showed what dominance Goldstein has over Maric.  Hampson will at least jump over Goldstein and take away his centre clearance dominance

Said the same @ the VFL game yesterday, Hammer was excellent against Mcintosh, was jumping way way higher & I think I counted 3 taps he lost.

Ivvy was OK yesterday, but I think he is shot

That's what Hampson provides however, that's the only thing he provides unfortunately. His around the ground work is shot.

Oh well at least if Hampson does play we can then get a rest from the ones with short memories

The seasons shot anyway so won't hurt to see this fraud of a footballer to around again

Not saying Hampson is a gun, simply saying that Maric will be Goldsteins bitch in the centre bounces.  Hampson will at least jump over him and win the majority of the taps.  We conceded the first three goals yesterday in the last qtr direct from centre clearances, if we pit Maric against Goldstein in the centre we will get flogged.  Maric can still hold his own at around the ground stoppages and boundary throw ins as it doesn't require him to jump, he's strength now is his body work at stoppages, not jumping.

It's got to be horses for courses and not simply people's narrow minded approach toward individuals if we are going to win games like next week.

Oh and also a coach who can coach would help

And if people don't like the idea of Dea/Thomas/Arnot I'm happy to start trying some of the new draftees.

Good because that's too many plodders. At least Dea can replace Batch and Thomas can find the ball but Arnot doesn't provide anything and is never going to be a good player

While watching the game maybe you should take notice of the other stuff not just ruck taps. Maric provides way more assistance around the ground than Hampson and Goldstein will be giggling himself to sleep if he see's his lining up on Hampson on the weekend

I'd play HampspudedAngus. Not sure his around the ground play is any worse than big Ivvy atm.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Goldstein is a good ruckman. He is good around the ground. If Hampson comes in more than likely he will win the tap outs but that is no guarantee we will get first use of the ball. Furthermore when the defence is under the pump and we are looking for a ruckman to take a big pack mark that won't be Hampson.
