North Melbourne coach Brad Scott said Hamish McIntosh was contracted until the end of 2013 and was not going anywhere.

"This question has been asked before and answered. He's a contracted player," Scott said at Aegis Park on Thursday.

"We've contracted him until 2013. We don't take those decisions lightly, so we're not only talking about keeping him we're putting our money where our mouth is.

"So he's a North Melbourne player and he will be unless Hamish or his manager come to us and indicate otherwise."

Bullskata, this merely means they know we'll be asking for a ruckman as Nought will be wanting us to throw the kitchen sink at him. I wonder if the same rules apply for Lachie Hansen or Lindsay Thomas if their contracts end in 2013 also. If they offer too much walk away Tigers. He's barely played in two years.Naught are just trying to increase his value knowing we are in the market for a ruckman.

Zac can play dont worry about that and theres no way Freo would look at trading out a future ruckman. In 3-4 years he'll be ready to take over from Sandilands

Freo have a track record of trading their future out of instand success.

Freo will listen to offers, they'll want to cash in on a premiership window whilst Sandilands and Pavlich are at the helm. Post Sandi and Pav retirement is low priority which is when Clarke will be ready.

Thats the Freo of old.

Freo have employed a consistent development strategy where Brad Lloyd and Chris Bond have invested in the draft exclusively over the last 2-3 seasons and have only recycled via the PSD.

No Shortcuts, No more excuses RFC!

correct darth

sorry Pope I think you're dreamin

Sorry I'm not sure I understand, what am I dreaming about?

That thinking Freo wouldn't accept a Foley <-> Clarke+pick.

Freo would absolutely do that deal. Sandilands has 4 years left as he is only 28. Griffin is also waiting in the wings who is a capable ruckman.

Pavlich and Sandi are Freos best players in their history and they will believe they can win a premiership with their current list. If they can add to that with someone of the calibre of a Foley they would do so.

I'd be interested to see if Clarke gets a game when Sandilands come back.

Freo would be negligent to turn down Foley for a guy who isn't in their 22.

Hey Pope, do you still think Foley for Clarke is a deal Freo would jump at?  :rollin  :lol

Herald-Sun has Richmond as Mark Blake's best hope

The media are trying to link Mark Blake to Richmond  :-\.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MARK Blake's Geelong career seems destined to end on 99 games.

Blake, 25, is believed to have made it known he will seek a new club after failing to play a senior match this season.

The ruckman had surgery in May after damaging ligaments in a finger and has not played since.

Blake was expected to return in the VFL last weekend but withdrew.

A 2009 premiership player, Blake is still regarded as the best tap ruckman at the club but has slipped behind Brad Ottens, Nathan Vardy, Trent West and Dawson Simpson in the pecking order of big men.

His best hope of continuing in the AFL appears to be at Greater Western Sydney or Richmond.

Zac Clarke won the Rising Star award for this week.

His value has just sky-rocketed....

If we want him, we're going to have to overpay big time seeing as he is contracted till 2013.

Next. no way will Freo let him go in the first place.  Move on people.
Clark, Mitch would be more of a chance.  Offer him whatever it takes!!

he's like Polly farmer compared to what we have, he looked like being anything when he steered geelong to a flag a couple of years back...injuries have set him back, certainly worth a chance

Mitch Clarke is a much better option than Trengove and more realistically he would likely want out to be number 1 ruck. He killed it one year when he was number 1 but since Luenburger came in and they split duties he's been far from impressive. Some players need more responsibility - hes a good size, nimble, very agressive and at a good age where rucks just start coming into their peak. I'd throw a big pay cheque at him
