At draft time yes, the year before when people started doing preliminary rankings of the U18 players for the year, Schulz was considered a #1 pick contender. He was massively underaged compared to the others and had shown quite a bit the year before as a kpp. He never had the same impact in the year he was eligible to be drafted, but was still taken high based off his reputation from the year before. Similar to the Clarke example used where he was considered a monty for the #1 pick in the preseason.
Fair enough Infamy. 2002 was one of the poorest draft years as well which didn't help.

One of the knocks on Clark was his temperament was questioned and also a fear of the go home factor. Buddy also had the same question marks about him too the year before.

Schulzs must be traded by Richmond to save the lads football career.
He will never produce any form for the Richmond football club as his mind has been damaged by poor development.
for him to produce anything he is capable of producing,  he needs a fresh start at another club.
Only then he can be fully judged.  He dont have his heart in the game at present & is not enjoying football & wants out.
It's hard to trade someone with zilch trade value. He's had 7 years in the system to produce and cement a spot in the side (2 years too many) and apart from that 6 goal haul in 2004 and a few good games in defence in 2008 he has continually gone missing. Just doesn't have the workrate and smarts needed for AFL.

Agreed it was a shocker, look at who went in that draft and you're seriously struggling to find any real quality players other than Goddard. Plenty of misses in the Top 10 and not many hits afterwards either.

Would love to see a Daniel Rich type of body come into the club, first year and look at him, amazing.

I agree, but its not just his body size. He can play too.
