The players would probably like to have different voices at different times. Hardwick cant run them into the ground 100% of the time all the time. Crocker would be a good get for Richmond. Norths players clearly responded to him late in the season as well. He seems like a terrific bloke to have as a number 2 coach.

They didn't respond to Crocker they were responding to the good news and genuine excitment in there getting of Brad Scott. It lifted the clubs optimism confidence and therefore out look and they played accordingly.

Unfortunately 2009 proved that our win against Hawthorn was in reality worth Nothing. Thats the truth of it.

No it meant the new coach in 2010 was looking at their games firsthand and wanted to see who wanted to do the hard stuff in a futile situation in order to remain on the list in 2010. New coaches do that to footy clubs and the playing list. Hence the playing list lifts its intencity especially fringe players and as a result you get a 5-10% increase across the board. Something our duds failed to respond to in the last few weeks of the season. Remember these two dud sides couldn't even beat each other in round 16. Heck even our duds were 7-2 after nine games in 2005.It's called winds of change and impressing the new coach. A new coaches honeymoon period. Once the rooting stops the new coaches worth is finally put to the test.

Darren Crocker is a great bloke and a very knowledgable footy person. Is a very good assistant coach

However, would he really want to come back to a club that gave him the flick 5 years ago?

NEW North Melbourne coach Brad Scott has made his first appointment, with Darren Crocker signed to assist him for the next two seasons.

Crocker, who coached North for the final 10 rounds this year after Dean Laidley's exit, had been considering his options for 2010 and beyond, and last week met new Richmond coach Damien Hardwick.

Crocker said the meeting with Hardwick was an information sharing session, and not an offer to join the Tigers.
