Gee if that extra year was the sealer then he can't have had much confidence that his spot on our list was safe in the long term.  :-\

Makes sense when you think about it

Dont forget the Blues asked if Collo was an option to get the Grigg deal done.

So with that in mind why wouldn't you take the extra year on offer especially when one club putting you on the trade table and the other club acvtually wanting you ???

Pretty sure he was told he would only have limited opportunities (or similar) if he stayed.

Correct. The following comment was from RFC ANALYST - BLAIR HARTLEY CHAT (October 12, 2010)

"Was ANDREW COLLINS on the table before trade week or was that suggested by Carlton?"
"No Andrew was not on the table, he was raised by Carlton and after long deliberation we decided it would be a fair and reasonable trade. It is never easy but we have to do everything in our power to improve our list. It has worked out well for Andrew as he has ended up with an extended contract, when he may have found it difficult to break into our team in 2011."

Not good news for Collo. He's just popped his left shoulder out in the Bullants-Port Melb game.

Big win foi Dimma that trade.

Could you imagine having another skinny flanker in our side. :banghead :banghead

His spot has been more than filled by the likes of Nahas and King

I don't really rate Grigg. Average foot skills, doesn't really go in. Kind of wish we didn't grab him. Jacko and Tuck are better versions and we really should never play any more than 2 of them in the side or we'll have 1 too many midfielders lacking composure and/or skill  8)

People forget that Grigg was the same yeah as Collins in the draft. Same age both 23 this year.

Grigg is loads better than Collins, would walk onto any AFL list and best 22 of all teams outside the top 4.
Go Tigers!

Think he his output has slowly gone down this year after a solid first four or five rounds. Pretty much the opposite of Edwards.
I'm not convinced yet at all.
Saw him not go hard enough and completely give up a chase against the dogs. Hasn't really done anything to win me back since.
It's not like we gave up a superstar to get him, but the jury is still well and truly out, for mine.

Have I ever told you that you are so big and slick? I open up a thread which contains a Slick Willy comment and I already know it will be brilliant.

Slick Willy, so god damn slick and big.

And stuff me, I'm freezing my stones off. It's peeing down with rain and it's 5 degrees here  :help
