I heard from a reliable source that Carr had told Shai he was worth $500K at the start of the year. Balme told Carr that they wouldn't renew his contract at that level and thus they both agreed to wait until the end of the year. I think both Shai and Carr realised that this was over the top and were happy to sign on for a lot less. The club was happy to extend for just one year.... :shh

Interesting that we have only offered Bolton a 1year deal. Sounds like we are pretty uncertain about him making the grade.

If Carr really did tell the kid he was worth a lot more and cost him a longer term deal earlier in the season, then he had better pray that Bolton has a breakout season.

Because if he doesn't, it could end in tears for Shai.
