Ahhh this old chestnut.

Instead of the obvious let’s look for the rumours. 3 flags in 4 years. Just like the Hawks and the Lions before that, we peaked and absolutely cashed in and as our stars got older and our draft picks got worse we slid. A tale as old as time.

 :clapping

People will believe what they want to believe to suit their narrative, view point or to make or justify their point.

I've been asked alot since MOnday night when my phone pinged at what seemed like every 3 minutes  ;D was I shocked or surprised

My answer has been this....

I am not surprised by the decision but I was shocked by the timing of it

My gut feel was if we won the flag last year he would probably have walked away then but we didn't so he went again. I don't blame for that as we blew it last year in that EF.

I don't care what others think my view is our list is a helluva lot better than what our current ladder position says. Even with the injuries there is no excuses for losing to GC, Carlton, Sydney. Are we top 4? No, but we should be in a better spot

Having said I certainly didn't see Cotch struggling the way he has based on how he ended 2022. But as Shedda the cliff can come bloody quickly. I didn't see Vlastuin struggling for form in the 1st 7 or so rounds. Didn't see so many of them struggling for form the way they have. How much is that on the Coach or the players themselves? It's on all of them IMHO

Did he stay too long? My answer is no but I reckon he has left at the right time
