Naiash Wanganeen-Milera's late hit on Daniel Rioli in the final quarter at the MCG on Saturday night was graded careless high contact, but the low impact grading means he has escaped a ban.

The young Saint can accept a $2000 fine with an early guilty plea.

Yep, for trying to break the opposition players forearm with their throat, it’s a joke , how’s the Sydney player getting two weeks for his action against mansell’s action
I’m confused  how we keep getting shafted

AFL Report Card: Round 14

Ben Cotton, David Zita and Jono Baruch
Foxsports
19 June 2023

RICHMOND

The Tigers got the job done for their milestone man Trent Cotchin at a sodden MCG. Their third win in a row under interim coach Andrew McQualter has moved them to the doorstep of the top eight and has their season well and truly alive.

In the votes

Trent Cotchin starred in his milestone game with 29 disposals and two goals, but Tim Taranto (38 disposals & 1.1) will most probably get the three votes come Brownlow night with another best on ground display. Dustin Martin would back the clock with 35 disposals in an inspired showing for his great mate while Jayden Short continued his goal kicking form off halfback with another two goals to go with his 23 possessions. Shai Bolton was again a star in the front half with 3.1 from 18 disposals.

Room for improvement

The Tigers took a bit of time to get going and then thrived in the wet as it tumbled down at the MCG. While they adapted to the conditions well, Getting off to a slow start will be a concern for McQualter and the Richmond coaching staff will be looking to arrest the slow starts after they return from their bye.

Grade

A

WINNERS AND LOSERS: THE RESULTS FROM ROUND 14 AND WHO IT SAYS MORE ABOUT

SEN
19 June 2023

Richmond (90) - (70) St Kilda

Lyon: “I think it says more about Richmond.

“I think St Kilda are what St Kilda are, and they've been super competitive under Ross, they're eight wins and five losses.

“I think they're squeezing as much as they can out of themselves, they've been very hard to score against and Richmond have come out and had 10 scoring shots in the first quarter and ended up kicking 13.12

“I think Andrew McQualter has got them reenergised and I think he's got them interested again.

“How far that takes him is going to be problematic because they've had a slow start to the year.

“But I like what they're doing, I like the fact that he's put his own little stamp on it, he swung a few changes around and I think it speaks volumes of them and him.

“It's a good result.”
