From a leadership perspective Newman easily

Skill wise Joel easily

Right now - I'd take Newman over Joel
"Oh yes I am a dreamer, I still see us flying high!"

from the song "Don't Walk Away" by Pat Benatar 1988 (Wide Awake In Dreamland)

For those posters who assume Bowden didn't love Richmond, I ask you to prove it. I've met him on occassion and I know He loved the club as did Richo and they still do.

Newman is a great leader and a great player.

Now that we have a great coach, a recruiting department and a development team. And don't forget a great CEO in Benny Gale I reckon players like Bowden would have been much highly regarded if under this sort of leadership.

Newman - great workhorse with heart
Bowden - more talented but probably didn't give as much as he could have. He drove me nuts!!!

Newman easy  :thumbsup

So it's settled then.
Joel catered to women and christians with his sassy yet fair sense of play...

Makes sense to me.  :thumbsup

What ever happened to the days when men were men, women knew their place, and the crazy god fearing guy stayed quiet in the corner?

Fact is, Anglo, able bodied male aethiests have had their equality screwed by every other sector of the community for decades now.

We don't have special hospitals, equivalent health funding, and we have to park the furthest away at the local shopping centre.

Have you ever seen someone truly disabled drive? Didnt think so.

And what's with that parents with prams? The women who use those spaces have usually got an behind so it's not like they couldnt do with a bit of a walk...

Your all stuffed... :banghead

Now,now.

As pathetic as Rawlings is,he addressed the problem of Joel.
The Christian sarcasm makes sense in the same way bowdens approach to his footy did.

Bowden was a very good player, but seemed to just get by on his natural talent and nothing more
Never once saw him fly the flag for the club or stick up for a team mate on the ground
Newman has his deficiencies, but he leads the team brilliantly and gets the most out of himself.

If Bowden had the work ethic or a King or Newman he could have been one of the best players to pull on the Tiger jumper... but he didn't
