+1 on William Powell's sentiments. The 'we haven't beaten a side above us' chant to me is dumbfounding. Because the more games you win, the fewer number of teams above you and the pool of teams below you increases?

As mentioned, the better metric is beating a team which made finals last year. Which we did well with toppling the Eagles and Crows. Collingwood, Essendon (although they didn't make finals), and North Melbourne were horrible efforts I would concede, Geelong we only really started copping  a belting when Vickery was involved with a head clash, and Freo well we all know how that ended.

Yes we aren't a top 4 but I think we have earned our spot in the bottom 4 of the top 8

Hawthorn haven't beaten many teams above them either, the losers!

Who's willing to torture themselves and watch the Essendon and North game back to back and tell me which one was worse?

I actually find it amsuing when people say "Richmond haven't beaten any of the top sides". The draw is done at the completion of the previous season and is based on a whole range of factors, we don't control who we play and how many times we play them

So.....

1. It's not our fault we haven't played Hawthorn or Sydney yet - 2 of the top 4 sides. haven't got a chance of beating them if you haven't played them  FAIR ENOUGH.

2. yep we lost badly against Geelong (did any of these so called experts actually expect us to win; me thinks not), stuffed up against the Pies by not sticking to the game plan. As for the Bombers - we were shocking. SO IN FACT WE HAVE LOST EASILY TO 3 OF THE BETTER CREDENTIALLED SIDES.

3. We lost to Freo by a point, a game that we should have won but threw away with 20 seconds of stupidity. YOU ARE KIDDING. IF WE WON THAT GAME IT WOULD HAVE BEEN HIGHWAY ROBBERY.

4. Two of the games we have won are against 2 finals sides of 2012. Adelaide for memory finished 4th in 2012 and I would argue that most soo called "experts" had them again finishing top 4-6, so is that a scalp, again not our fault that the Crows have been disappointing. SIMPLE FACT IS THE CROWS ARE INJURY RIDDLED AND NOT A FINALS SIDE THIS YR.

5.  Ditto the Eagels most so called experts had them pencilled in for top 4 so ....  DITTO ADELAIDE IN FACT WE CAUGHT THE EAGLES AT THEIR LOWEST EBB OF THE YR.

6. Carlton - well I am pretty sure everyone was saying as soon as Mick was appointed coach they were going to be top 4 as well.... so .... not our fault they are an over rated rabble.
WERE THEY IT WAS PRETTY DIVIDED ABOUT WHERE THEY HAVE FINISHED AND THE FACT IS THEY ARE NOT A FINALS SIDE AGAIN THIS YR.

7. N0rt - obviously the most pathetic effort of the year - enough said! A SIDE AT A SIMILAR LEVEL JUST IN FRONT OF US IMO THRASHED US AND DIDNT ALLOW US TO PLAY.

8. Finally the likes of Wayne Carey didn't have us finsihing in their collective top 8's this year so I really don't understand what the big deal is... all about finding a headline me thinks. CAREY LIKE ALL OF US IS ENTITLED TO VOICE HIS OPINION. A LEVEL HEADED AND UNBIASED PERSON WOULD CONCEDE HE IS NOT FAR FROM THE MARK.

thats a great spin on things wp. for me ive seen nothing not a thing to suggest the general sentiments of carey are wrong. Oh and apologies for being lazy with the above.
