My best 22 for next year-
Morris Chaplin Grimmes
Vlastuin Rance Houli
Conca Foley Jackson
Lids Vickory Knights
Hampson Jack S.Edwards
Maric Cotch Martin
Newman Ellis King/Arnot, McBean
Question marks -Houli, Knights, Hampson, King, S.Edwards
Possible replacements- Dea, McIntosh, McDonough, Pick 11
The small forward roll is a real concern, King, Knights, and S.Edwards are not the answer IMO, Chappy would be ideal for a couple of seasons.
Or do we take a risk and draft young Dayle Garlett? Or both?
King is just about done, Knights deserves a chance to show something, so for me I'd try to trade Shane. Maybe bundle him with our pick 11/12 for an upgrade in pick or Adams from GWS or for a second rounder that would get Garlett.
Also would like to replace Houli at some stage, we get good run from him and his spoiling effects were better this year but would love someone with more size and desperation.
I still think he is way to soft. Dea could be it but we loose a bit of rebound. Or do we bite the bullet and just sit Lids there? With Lids there, that a pretty solid back six.
What about McIntosh? Has anyone seen enough of him to call if he will be any good? And if so, what type of player is he? Could he take that HBF roll from Houli?
On paper, it not a bad side, but not a top four side IMO. If only we could get a few of our kids to stand up and maybe be a bit more daring in the next couple of weeks with trades we could maybe take the next step.
Offer up players like Edwards, Foley, Houli, Grigg, Batchelor, Astbury, Griffiths, Nahas, Helbig, you never know what might come back.
Be bold Tigers
So instead of the side above, how does this look with a few improvements-
Morris Chaplin Grimmes
Vlastuin Rance Lids
Conca Foley Jackson
Chappy Vickory Martin
Hampson Jack Garlett (second rounder draft pick from a trade for Houli)
Maric Cotch Adams (pick 11 and Edwards)
Newman Ellis Arnot McBean
So we loose S.Edwards and Houli and use pick 11 and a second round pick.
And gain Adams, Garlett and Chappy (free agent)
Thoughts??
