2008 another false dawn where we finished 9th in a 16 team competition.

And I thought you didn't like mediocrity.

We had the 12th most miserly defence in 2008.

But if anyone wants to compare that with last year....

http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_ladder?year=2015&pt=SE&st=SE&sb=a

So let's recap, shall we?

I mention Thursfield's 2008 season, you're reply is to post a link to the stats for one match of said player from 2009.

I say Thursfield at his best was better defender than Chaplin , you respond by  bringing up Rance & Grimes and saying that together with Chaplin they are better than Thursfield was together with the also hitherto unmentioned Moore & McGuane.

After I reiterate that Thursfield at his best was better than Chaplin but also back your -frankly irrelevant- assertion Rance & Grimes are better than Moore & McGuane, you respond by talking about Richmond's 9th placing in Thursfield's best year as if that was somehow down to Thursfield and equate it to me endorsing mediocrity...you then talk about where our entire defence ranked in Thursfield's best year as if again, it's somehow proof of his individual performance and despite me already conceding that at least two of Thursfield's team mates in defence that year were nowhere near as good as Chaplin's current team mates.

In sum - I think it's fair to say that you're really not very good at this as comprehension is clearly not your strong suit, and it's best you quit while you're behind.

Will"s the best 191 cm/ 85 kg fullback we have ever had...we certainly have no need for the 195 cm/ 97 kg Troy. Bye bye Troy.

Michael Laffy, Des Ryan, Peter Mcormack, Jeff Hogg the list is endless, it's depth of talent bottomless.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Our glorious leader Benny Gale spent many a year at half back when he was young.  Got flogged a lot but then the whole team did.

Having a debate on who is a better defender - Chaplin or Thursfield  , is a little like debating who is better looking - Bette Mitler or Rosie O Donnell .

Bette Midler at least has some vaguely sexy moments in The Rose, whilst Rosie O'Donnell's never been anything but hideous and fat...

Man, this RCGG vs pessimist / positive v negative thing is getting boring.

Not everyone falls into these categories. Let's just debate each topic on its merit for a while without brining this poo up. All threads are starting to smell the same.
