Was my bright memory until 2017 GF

I would love to see Joel Bowden in the current team.  He played his best footy in defence but I reckon he would be an awesome high HF in the current team.  He marked the ball well and his skills were silk.

Don’t forget Nathan Brown too. Was absolutely tearing the comp to shreds in 05 before he broke his leg. Pretty sure we were comfortably in the top 4 at that stage and ended up going on a massive losing streak immediately after and missing finals.

Who could forget that game against Collingwood.

Can some fellow OERers give us some summaries on Chaffee, tivendale, dragasevic, Holland and ray hall?

Chaffey was one of my faves. Tough little nugget, good left boot.

Tivendale was one of those guys...could kick beautifully and do some amazing things but then went missing half the time.

Dragasevic even more so. Was diabolically talented in front of the goals, did some real insane things. Crueled by knee injuries.

Ben Holland was a good player but just didn't have the heart IMO. Could take a great mark and was one of the best kicks around at the time. Team sucked and didn't do him or Richo justice.

Ray Hall was a tough skinny guy, could really run for a tall bloke. Lacked talent though.

Since we're visiting memory lane, one of my fave players as a kid was Greg Stafford

Huge bloke, bit nasty at times, and a great kick. Tough as nails too. I remember he played out a game after hyper extending his knee and jagged some match winning goals.

Was too young to remember anything specific, but I go remember dragasevic being one of my favourites and then he was gone.

Was born in the early 90s, so all these players are who I grew up watching.

Some other heroes of the late 90s-early 00s that I don’t think have been mentioned yet; the kellaway brothers, gasper, ottens, Hilton, andy krakouer.

Bowden - broke his collarbone(s) early days (1996-97). Played outside as a result and was seen for a while as that era's Ellis. It wasn't until he went back into defence that fan attitudes turned positive.

Tivs - good 2001 but no right foot meant opp worked him out.

Sugar - think Lambert carrying the load if dusty, cotch, sheds weren't around. At Adel Sugar had the stars around. He didn't at Richmond.

Tom Roach - harsh but only recruited due to surname.

Mark Coughlan is one of the saddest stories from the 00s. What could've been if not cut down by OP and an ACL at such a young age .
