i think we have made a big mistake in hanging onto a few players. i.e Jackson, Hall, McGuane, Moore and there's probably a couple of others.

Could of had a few more youngsters to develop.
Sounds good, but how do you do it?
You can only get rid of a certain number of players and you can only use the draft picks you've got.  If you could have traded any of those players to get extra draft picks, don't you think they would have?

Exactly X

IF, there are too many IF's over a lot of out players.

That has been the problem for far too long.

Most of them still being contracted till the end of this year yet having no trade value meant they couldn't have been cut unless we paid them out.

Even if we could have delisted them we couldn't trade for more decent high draft picks because no other club valued the players we were willing to trade. That meant cutting more players would just have meant we would have had to pick up kids with very late picks (picks 80+) in the draft that have just as an unlikely chance of making it anyway.

My list of 20 players to go will be making a reappearance by r11 for sure I reckon. Still got a way to go just yet as a team imho.

Not picking on you for the quality of those players, because I agree with you.
I just wonder how Wallace could have got more kids last draft as a result of letting these players go.

And BTW, Wallace didn't draft them  ;)

Spud would have had him playing out the back pocket spotting up Wayne Campell 20 metres up the ground. He would have been at another AFL Club now.

I reckon a few sms messages - one to Lara Bingle and the other to Lance Witnall's missus should do the trick. :lol

just watched the blues beat the hawks. now we have nothing to worry about rnd 1. as long as we put in a good effort we will win. a full carlton team just beat the hawks and i must say ut was a crap game, nothing special about either team.
all u guys who think the blues and fev will thump us, I DONT THINK SO!

I actually watched it as well
Thought the blues released players out of defense pretty good actually.eg Houilhan, Walker,Scotland. etc.
I think the blues will be hard to beat in round 1.
We will have to just wait and see wont we.
Guys like Whitnall and Kouta will only get better in upcoming weeks.
I reckon Murphy is going to be a superstar. Have watched him train many times and I like him better than Lids at this stage.
I reallly like Kennedy hitting up at half forward as well.
All indictations are that Whitnall will play forward this year, Fisher isnt too bad either.  Very interesting round 1 coming up.

Still a month to go and March form means squat with sides at different stages of their preparation. Let's see who runs out on April 1 before we write ourselves off.

The Blues' youngsters are very very good (yep Murphy will be a superstar Jack) and their senior players can still cause strife if allowed a free reign but there isn't much in between and what there is is very ordinary. You don't win back to back spoons for nothing.

ps. LOL Julz  ;D
