Summary
* Injuries in the wrong department at the moment with the loss of big men. Tough for Patto and Polak against Everitt and Jolly.
* Knobel - same ankle injury that kept him out for the last 7-8 weeks last year. Can't get through a game. Surgeon going in to have a look. We're hopeful but not sure. Losing Knobel, Stafford (retiring) and Simmo at once isn't what we banked on.
* Simmo may play with Coburg this week. Needs to get gametime into him which he will do initially at Coburg since he missed a lot of footy.
* As for our ruck this week, Patto's best game for us was probably against the Pies in Mildura. He's not completely out of it just had problems against Everitt. Probably won't have the same problems against the Pie ruckman. Our midfield held it's way against the Swans.
* With Foley, Johnson, Polo (and Cogs) we have a strong contest midfield. Allowed us to get on top of Collingwood last time.
* Browny similar to Simmo but hasn't missed as much footy so straight into the seniors. Will play against the Dogs or Eagles. Scans show the hot spot has faded so he is on track. Doctors say it isn't a 5-6 week injury.
* Young guys that are close? Edwards - his run, endurance and speed were very good. Got all the attributes so he isn't far away: Jacko was the one who impressed the most: King played well. We were very competitive but just fell short physically last weekend and some of our kicking let us down. Greg doesn't think there'll be too many changes.
* Kingsley - week after this at Coburg. 3-4 weeks away.
* We love playing and beating Collingwood which we've done regularly recently ... (laughs with Michael Christensen)
