Summary

* Polak?
Greg repeated what Terry said on Tuesday and how Polly's memory is starting to comeback about the Carlton game and how he recognises people (Bruce Monteath was his junior coach).

* Cogs?
Cogs played 3/4ers in the Coburg ressies and got through fine. Will step it up and play for Coburg seniors this week. A very resilient person with all the injuries he's copped. Last roll of the dice but he has the right mindset. Greg then spoke about Cogs' trip to Germany again. So far so good. Everyone around the club knows how hard he works and how valuable to the team he is as he was leading our B&F after round 10 and just before he did his knee the first time.

* Richo?
Richo told Miller he was 10 minutes away from getting through to the break. Is battling but Richo believes he'll get up. They leave it up to the medical people and that won't be decided until today [Thusday] or Friday.

* They asked Miller if playing on a big ground like Subiaco is a risk?
Miller said yep big ground is Subiaco but that was Richo's first game playing on the wing against Freo, we had a big win and it was a turnaround in our fortunes.

* We're buoyed by the fact we won against Freo there and the ground suits our style of footy (run and carry plus place). Optimistic from that point of view. We know the week off will help the Eagles with their young guys plus Glass and other players carrying injuries will be better for the break so we aren't going to underestimate them. It's going to be a good battle and apparently there's been a fair of rain over there so we're expecting a heavy ground.

* On the week off trained until Thursday and then gave the senior guys Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. Poor Richo not only had his hammy but also had his wisdom teeth out so not much of a holiday for him.

* Week off - how do cope with training - too much or too little?
Miller said good question. He thought the dye was cast in both games last weekend. Geelong and Collingwood came out strong from the start and caught their opposition off guard.

* Any youngster close to making their debut?
Alex Rance and Andy Collins are playing good footy at Coburg and so I think you'll find both those boys aren't far away from making their debut.

What drugs is this guy on ? or is he a complete imbecile.
Back to the Hammerheads for Miller, lol
How on earth could he say that our game plan is run and carry plus pace.
 :banghead
Isnt this the team that kicks short and laterally and chips the ball around week in and week out. Port win -Bowden 39 possesions etc
I must of been going to the wrong games each week, ::)

half the trash they spin to the supporters in the media Jack is wearing very thin with the real supporters l can tell ya
get asked every week at the footy,  do l support the coach Wallace & Miller who was meant to be the brainwave of recruiting by so many supporters at the games, people l never seen before ask & they tell me they are sick to death of watching the same crap & hearing what they gunna do but never get it done or even close to getting it done.
They are all stuffin talk down at Tigerland & the dribble that comes out of that place makes me cringe
can tell ya JD's sister & former players from the 50's are not happy & are starting to vent

no Fishy ;D  talking about our supporters & what they have to say
we sometimes go to 3 games in a week & not always Collingwood or Richmond games.
Like to attend any game that showing a good display of League football, its hard to get that at Richmond even you would agree on that so pull your fingers out  ;D
l'm still supporting them with several memberships each year & the only games l refuse to go to are when we are forced with other clubs like co-tenant Melbourne to play away from our home ground.
Now l turned up to our home ground that day & its not my fault our team was not there playing & is forced to play elsewhere so that the league makes thier grab for cash :thumbsup
l'm sure you know l'm a loyal supporter

Yeah, I do.  :) Was pulling your leg about the skunks.

Still confused about the real supporters bit. The ones that half the spin in the media is not wearing thin with are also real supporters.

Jack our game plan is run and carry. The problem is is when we have Bowden in the backline who plays in the completely opposite manner and actively leads the other players around him to slow it up, chip around, kick to unmanned players and wait for the opposition to move downfield to zone, flood or at best man-up.

Makes Bowden look great - he seems like a leader - commanding those around him and he gains plenty of possessions which appear silky smooth because he is able to despose of the ball under no pressure.

When he was not in the team or further up the ground all of a sudden he didn't seem so good and barely got hold of the ball. We also had players like Kingy breaking through the lines and catching the opposition off guard and while sometimes this plan came unstuck occasionally it gave our forwards much more of a chance of being one out with their direct opponents and for our midfielders to quickly link up via foot or hand to get it into the F50.

Bowden and Newman (when he is being influenced by Joel) is the reason why we appear to chip and slow the game down when in reality our game plan is to run and move the ball on quickly.

Unfortunately for TW Bowden had that 39 possession game that most media and fans raved about which will make it difficult to move out of the role until he is regularly exposed again such as what happened in the Carlton game.

So run, carry and pace - yes, old blockers/discenters such as Joel -no.

Time to make the tough calls Terry!

ok let me seperate the confusion for you mate  ;D

reflecting on MEDIA only, l should have stated it

Real supporters are the ones who hate personel from the club every week always in front of the media, sometimes several times each, when at pre-season they said there will be less talk & more onfield performace

l hate it when supporters come up to me & say but this is whats happening & things will get better cause they take in all the media spin they hear & read

 :cheers  ;D
