2009 Finals thread

Bombers getting thumped ;D although not a surprise. Lucky to be playing finals with just 10.5 wins when we missed out last year with 11.5  :P. Whoever fell into 8th spot was always going to be just making up the numbers.

As for the Crows - Tippett = gun!

Bombers lose by 96 points.

Was always going to be uphill  after their injuries suspension and form of the Crows.

One down two to go  :pray

Geez those Crows fans aren't too bright. They couldn't tell the difference between Lovett-Murray (who dropped Vince behind the play) and Lovett so they booed both all night :wallywink.

Bomber fans aren't too happy with Knighter after last night's thrashing  ;)

Coached like a Richmond player was in charge

Dont' understand the decision not to play a ruckman or at least someone who had a vague idea on how to ruck

Maric had his best game and looked like the greatest ruckman of the last 20 years last night

I am not sure which I'd prefer to be honest making the finals and getting thumped by nearly 100 points or just not making the finals

big lesson Buldogs learnt today. The fact that Rocket last week was so happy to win by more than 23 so they could play the Cats well Rocket and Buldogs you got found out today.

if that didnt give the cats amunition the fact ervyone wanted to play them, then nothing will

Gary Ablett's mark. No hands in the back??? That was a great mark but technically it was not a mark.

Doggies burnt by no big key forward again in finals. Everytime they went long forward the Cat defenders picked them off. The Doggies were competitive in general play but had to hit up Johnson, Aker and co. on the lead all day to get a shot on goal. The size difference also stood out. Geelong had the bigger bodies.

A bonus for the Cats. Two weeks to rest up those coming back from injury like Chapman and Ottens and try and get Stevie Johnson back on the park.

Pick of the weekend would definentely be seeing Carlcheatscum squander a five goal lead early in the last quarter to lose by 7 points. Mothballs for the Scum. :thumbsup

Great stuff eh Tucky. What a choke by the bluebaggers  :rollin. The look of disbelief on Fev's face at the siren was priceless. LOL Walls saying it might be good for Carlton  :wallywink.

Gutsy win by the Lions  :clapping

Two down one to go  :pray

It could only be topped by the Pies losing in straight sets or the Pies win tomorrow only to lose to lose the Prelim or the Grannie.

Agreed mate. J. Brown is prob the closest thing to Carey you will see, and he's a good bloke with time for anyone too.

Top performance. For a side that played grand final in '04 their list is in pretty good shape again. Lots of hungry young players. Their development is second to none. Could be the start of something good for them in 2-3 years as long as Bradshaw can hold down FF.

Yeah, it was an absolute delight seeing that filthy cheating Blue scum crash and burn. Now let's hope that the Maggotpie filth follow suit tomorrow, and Judd gets wiped out for eye-gouging :lol

The Blues miss Waite as he gives them more versatility. If he comes back next year as good as new from the knee and Warnock can allow Kreuzer to push forward to help Fev then yep the Blues will challenge again. They'll probably be looking for a key defender in this draft/trade period. Having said that if the above goes pear shape (Waite struggles on return and Warnock turns out to be a dud) then they have traded away their future in recent years chasing Judd and Warnock which could come back to bite them. The Blues only early draftee in the last two drafts has been Yarran (they overlooked Rich).
