Peake seeks trade from Dockers

MELBOURNE is one of three Victorian clubs chasing Fremantle speedster Brett Peake, who told the Dockers on Friday that he wanted to be traded.
It is understood that Brisbane leads the race for his services, with homesick Brisbane ball magnet Bradd Dalziell requesting a trade back home to Western Australia.
Victorian clubs Melbourne, Essendon and Richmond have also shown interest in Peake, according to his manager Colin Young."He's walked out on Fremantle … he was just getting a bit stale and just wants a change," Young said.
"I think with the team not making the eight as well [was a reason].''
Melbourne football manager Chris Connolly said "the door is open" for trades for experienced players, but the club's focus was on the draft.
"We'll take the best possible player in the pre-season draft and anything is possible come trade week," he said.
"At the same time, we're very keen to hang on to our early picks in the draft.''
Dockers beanpole Aaron Sandilands, who is under contract for 2010, appears likely to stay at Fremantle, despite heavy interest from several Victorian clubs.
Sandilands has been linked to Hawthorn, with its developing ruckman Max Bailey requiring a third knee reconstruction.
