Cleve had to be cut as he was languishing in the VFL ressies and no longer was showing any heart. However early on he was poorly treated at the selection table by Plough IMO. You don't drop young key forwards when they kick 3 goals two weeks in a row and then have a poor game. You need to persist to build up confidence especially when we were meant to be rebuilding.
Folks complain about Sarge and rightly so as he's sleepy but he ain't a pussy.
Cleve is quite simply about as soft a player as I have ever seen pull on a jumper MT. There is barely a physical bone in his body. Pretty important ingredient in a KPF.
Plenty of players in football have been dropped after a bad game, however the ones that are going to make it take it on the chin, show character and bounce back. Cleve showed none of that.
Hughes very rarely game a whimper when he was dropped. He didn't take any of the glimpse of form he showed last season at Richmond back to Coburg with him, he just whimped it and expected the recall. I am glad he never received the charity of playing again in the Y&B.
Silver spoon softie. His AFL 5 minutes is over thankfully. Next.
