Who do OERites want to win on Saturday?

For me its Geelong.

I think they are pound for pound a better side.
They play a better style of footy and just like us in 1973 winning at all costs after the pain and heartbreak of 1972 they will go one better this year. They are playing the better footy and the Saints have not been the same since they lost their unbeaten record a week after they unnecessarily rested 8 of their players against Hawthorn. Geelong seem to be playing better footy too coinciding with the return from injury of some of their stars.

Furthermore I don't like the Saints and the majority of Saint fans that much. Making out like its their destiny and God given right and that we are a crap club and regularly reminding you in the last few years is enough to make me want to prey for a Cats win.
Have people who support them got short memories or what? Considering they have won a million wooden spoons yeah right. 4 in a row as recently in the 80's.
I would love to see them fail just makes going through our lean period just that tiny bit easier.

I would also think the prospect of Milne winning a Premiership Medallion :chuck
Riewoldt also seems to get an easy ride from the umps too and although influential as he was on Friday he is pronr to fall to the ground very easily on the slightest body contact. Possibly a bi product of Luke McGuane rag dolling him last year. I would love to see him have a sook like he did up in Brisbane all those years ago. :lol

For me its Go Cats

The Saints supporters have been waiting a long time for a flag.

It's the Saints for me.

Cats. I'd like to see a high scoring but close GF but they generally don't happen anyway and with the Saints involved it will just not be a chance at all.

I don't really care as the best two teams have made it to the Granny and saved us from a fate worse than death lol. Hopefully it's a good game. I've now swung to thinking Geelong will win it for the reasons Tucky has said - they are the form side of the finals and they have revenge as motivation after last year. On the other hand I guess if the Saints win it then both clubs give us hope in breaking a long drought  :-\.

It's the Cats for mine, simply because I cannot stand St Kilda.

As I said in another thread I have absolutely no respect for them as a club and in particular their foul mouthed fans who hurled abuse at Ma Powell for no other reason than she was old and not very mobile.

So if next Saturday means that those same people who abused her have to suffer some more fan-bloody-tastic.  :clapping :clapping

Go Cats ;D

I don't think the situation was helped by the fact Richmond won that day, obviously set their ferals off

I wont repeat it because the swear filter would go into meltdown but I remember she was upset and didn't want to come to the footy again because of it.

I watched that Geelong team emerge from the tunnel on Saturday night, it struck me how huge each body is. They are still well and truly the bench mark team in the competition, and would beat St Kilda 8 out of every 10 times.

Although they rely on a terrible KPP in Hawkins and Mooney (is there anyone more overrated than this man?) luckily they have so many goal kicking midfielders that they are some what redundant anyway.

The St Kilda side has far to many questions marks over it and i think Geelong will be able to nullify its biggest threats.

I also had a bet with a mate from work early last year saying the Richmond would win a flag before St Kilda did, one of my more brave if not stupid bets i have made, we were travelling okay at the time...

Whoever runs for Richmond in the half time sprint.

I don't really mind, I hope the Saints win, but think Geelong will

A big part of me would like for Geelong to be underachievers with a side who should have won 3 in a row
The Saints are my local side and given they've only ever won one before I think it'd be nice for them to break their drought

That being said, I kinda respect and admire the way the Cats play, so if they win it they'll be quite deserving. Either way, it should be a ripper.
