Burgoyne rumour
« on: October 03, 2009, 05:34:08 PM »
Most likely garbage as it's an SEN caller but he said Richmond would make a play for Shaun Burgoyne in trade week offering an indigenous player as part of the trade (Tambling or JON).

Look I think its a furphy but Port aint stupid. JON isn't worth that and in our case it would be Tambling. Port let Stevens slide through to the PSD as they were not happy with the deal on offer in 2003 so why would this be any different. If Port are not going to benefit then why should they care about where a player ends up who clearly does not want to be playing for them. There may be quite the talent in the PSD this season. :thumbsup

Good move as well. Just because Edwards played 3 or 4 better games doesnt mean he will come on.

Hmmm..they loved him back when.
I'd be reluctant to lose Shane when he could be on the verge just the same.
However IF fit Burgoyne would make a real difference to our team.

we should offer up edwards not for burgoyne but as part of a burgoyne trade that sees us get a decent pick in return.

Not the worst suggestion out there. He had a better year this year across HB so may have some trade value but he's too small for that role moving forward for us to become a top 8 side IMO.

gee i hope its Edwards, i really do.

This guy  had a few good games in the last half of the year like the game against the Pies when Leon kicked 4 on him, BIG DEAL!!!

can he be part of our premiership side. NO. is he good enough. NO.

some of you will say he is young but so was Schulz, Petrified. etc

this guy is one of very few we could get something for.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

A caller to SEN brought up again that he heard Richmond is interested in Burgoyne for our 1st pick and an indigenous player. So it's garbage as we are using our first pick on a young mid (Martin) according to FJ.
