Jamie Charman to Richmond?
« on: October 03, 2009, 11:27:50 PM »
Trading Charman could also generate interest from a number of clubs (including Richmond, for Shane Tuck perhaps?), but Voss might be reluctant to reduce his rucking stocks after the injury crisis in `09.

Dont like this one and the problem is the draft picks exchange as well as Charmans age.

This is absolute slop.

Just will not happen, He'll be 28 in August 2010.

Raines for a 3rd round is done.

Why would we add to the deal our 2nd rounder for Charman. Absolute slop. We've resigned Simmonds.. why would we want 2 ruckman that are post 27 and are injury ridden

Would be the equivalent of going through the Trent Knobel experience again.
We have seen the best of Charman and that was a few years back. Pass.

With so many decent young ruckman on the move, why go after someone who is older ruckman, injury prone,

Connerly from Freo
Griffen from Adel
Hampson from Carl

Are just 3 ruckman that have been mentioned by the press

rumour would be BS , no-one would part with a R2 for a 28yo who's durablity is questionable..letalone our pick at 19 which is pretty good currency...I like charman but straight for raines or a r III selection that is all

been talking about Connerly for sometime now.
Know the lad very well, his very keen & playing in the WAFL
had no chance at Freo with Sandilands & Co & is homesick.
Former TAC Gippsland Power lad who is good at ground level being a big fella, has great strong hands, nice kick
Can play in most key positions,  has lots of mobility & ground coverage.
Mainly a Ruckmen / Forward who can fall back into defence
If we pass him up it will be another Pavich gone missing
Forget about Charman his not upto standard & correct would be Knobel,  Marsh, all over again
Oh why did l have to say Ben Marsh  :rollin

No to Charman! Too old and injury prone and a short-term fix at best.

I can't see Carlton letting Hampson go especially if Fev is traded away. They'll need him and Warnock in the ruck with Kreuzer pushed forward. There's been rumours that Connerly may be a show but we would want to get him cheaply if we went down that track.

Voss said one club has shown interest in Charman (us?) but that Charman isn't up for trade.

would have thought they might push a few players  out considering the number of choices already out the door...intruigoing few days ahead

In another thread someone said that Connelly was seriously injury prone. So who knows?
