Thursday March 25 - Round 1: Tigers vs Carlton
« on: October 20, 2009, 02:49:57 AM »
Very early thoughts with 158 days to go?

Anyone give us a chance?

is the game still on? Afl might change the rules on R1, they have form there. If it is on, no Judd or Fev would give us a sneaky chance
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

Big chance if Cotchin has a full pre-season and is ready to go.

Ideally it'd be a Judd-less midfield against a fully fit Foley, Deledio, Cousins, Cotchin, Martin  :pray, Collins and Ball  :lol

I don't think there will be too much hype coming from Punt Road over the summer and we'll be fully focussed.

Well knowing us we will win this one!!! We were tipped to win it last year and make the top 8 even the top 4 and the rest as they say...... Next year we are tipped as bottom 3 with many years of re-building ahead so we will probably get up, with Carlton minus Judd & Fev and with Stevens retiring this ones in the bag folks.... :shh

Another big build up to round 1 with Richo going to a lap of honour before the bounce to say goodbye to the Tiger faithful.

I'd all but booked my flight down for the game. Now it's a certainty

Hopefully we'll get another massive crowd to farewell the big fella. He deserves it and most fans of all clubs loved him because he was one of the last few characters and individuals of the game. Let's also hope the side comes out breathing fire this time around on the big occasion rather than choking and does Richo and the Club proud  :pray.

Marc Murphy to undergo hip surgery which will put him out of the start of the NAB Cup. Carlton saying they expect him to still play round 1 but he may be underdone.

I am going in at about 75%-85% that we will win this game provided the injury Gods are on our side for a change :pray. As I have said many times before I really believe Carlton are and have been overated for a while now. Forget about Judd, Fev or Murphy, I still think with those players in our mids stack up better and so does our team overall.

I think Hardwick would have raised the intensity bar, accountability bar and teamwork bar during the pre season. We won't have players like Petts, Bowden, Johnson, Brown, Cogs and a few others out there playing for their own personal glory. We will have a TEAM out their with individuals being held accountable for their part in our game plan.

We will win.

Just further to my last post, last year I went into round one 35% confident, everyone was jumping out of their skin saying how much we would win by and this and that and deep down I knew what was coming well I didn't know but you know the feeling. We have gone in a lot smarter this year and I think it will pay dividends.

I think we are a lot fitter the the Blues too... :thumbsup
