2009 Richmond Draft Picks

(including today) there are 3 days to go untill this years draft.

i have been reading and waiting with excitement for Thursday 6:30pm.

if we could focus on what Richmond is going to draft for this thread.

what you think, what you want, what you hope Richmond will draft or anything else you believe or have read.

with all of Richmond's available selections, list who you think we will draft.

listing each player, clearly state the position he has been drafted for.

eg:

44 - Serhat Temel (Calder) Full Foward - "a little description if you can"

hoping we get a better indication of what we think Richmond will draft.

i am personally hoping we draft: 2 Tall Forwards, 2 Half Forwards, 2 Midfielders, 1 Tall Backman, and use our Pre-Season Pick No.2 on another young draftee that missed out.

look forward to reading your opinions!

 :)

Given we will be one of the clubs with the most picks in the draft, I hope we give Majak Daw a spot

I'm in agreement . He could be something really special and I'm getting the impression he wont last to the rookie draft either

Dartboard ready  :-\

3. Martin

19. One of Griffiths, Carlisle, Tapscott, Bastinac

35. Fyfe ... a guess who'll be still around by our 3rd pick

44. Fitzpartrick/Houghton

51. Matt Dea/Panos

67. Astbury

71. Cachia/Daw

78. PASS - look at the left over kids and pick on in the PSD to get ahead of GC17 with the first 5 picks in the rookie draft.

now im just taking the pee with mcginty. have to say though that the few highlights he has on you tube, shows that he can catch the footy, pass it off pretty well and he can kick straight and long from 50. I was also interested in the fact that hes only played footy for less than 2 years and comes from a basketball background. Maybe a rookie selection to be honest.

Too early to tell. I'm happy we've picked up a young gun midfielder and two KPPs with our first 3 picks. They'll be the make or breakers for this draft for us. If in 5 years time we see 4 of these 7 kids cement themselves a AFL quality footballers then we would've have done well out of this draft.
