THE Mike Smith Cup is one of the most popular events on the local cricket calendar and it's on again this Sunday, November 29, when Richmond footballers take on Omega Cricket Club.
Troy Simmonds will lead the footballers in the one-day match at Bricker Reserve, Moorabbin (1pm start).
Luke McGuane, Jayden Post, Jack Riewoldt, Matthew White and Jake King are among the confirmed starters for Richmond, and the great Matthew Richardson will be lending his support to the Tiger effort.
Daniel Jackson, Nathan Foley and Will Thursfield are running the raffle.
Saints Leigh Montagna, Justin Koschitzke, Luke Miles and new Irish recruit Tommy Walsh will be running an Auskick clinic.
The annual fixture salutes a stalwart of Omega who died from cancer, and every year his brother Dizzy works tirelessly to organise and promote it.
All money raised goes to a charity.
This year's recipient is the Tigers In the Community program, which supports Richmond and Collingwood housing estates, Very Special Kids, St Mary's House of Welcome and hospital visits by players.
Sporting memorabilia will be auctioned and there will also be a $2000 last-out draw, giant slide, jumping castle, showbags, face painting, wine tasting, and police and fire vehicles.
Purchase of a $30 ticket will put people in with the chance to win a $2000 Myer gift voucher. Ticket holders will also be entitled to beer, wine and food between 1pm and 5pm.
