So...will we play any rookies this year considering we can promote two?

I think Relton might get gig along with Polly  :thumbsup

No Free  ??? Interesting choices though happy we picked up Grimes, O'Reilly and Polly. From what I saw of Roberts if he can get his fitness right he will be absolute gun! Don't know anything about the other choices as yet.

Craig Cameron on SEN as tiga said....

Continued line of drafting youth from the National draft

Grimes
Hicks - quick small forward
Contin -- inside mid.
Roberts- small forward from Wanderers
Polak - been training pretty well with us to be honest. Gave him the preseason to give him a shot and we're happy to pick him up again.
O-Reilly - quick athletic utiltiy. Fantastic hand-eye coordination. No probs with sttling. Doing a commerce degree

The guy on SEN wanted to talk about Polly so that's why Cameron didn't talk about Westoff.

Very interesting draft.

Panos went very deep and Temel wasn't picked up. Myles Sewell also missed. Did the Morrish Medalist get picked up?

Gobsmacked Tom Harms wasn't picked up. Was 3rd best at Draft camp for the kicking drill and for mine looked really good in the Championships for SA.

Westhoff is an interesting selection, can't find anything about him. As a forward would have to be rated better than Temel you'd think..

Would have liked to have seen Harms get a gig. Did Wanganeen get drafted?

That's right tiga. We can nominate two rookies to play straight away.

No Free  ???
I was told Club thought him too slow and small. That seems to have been confirmed.

Just shows hype and a 2 minute highlights video on the internet means nothing. Feel sorry for the kids that miss out in those circumstances. They would've had their hopes up from all the hype.

Yep Woods and Wanganeen were overlooked as well Popelord.

Did your club meet its goals?

RICHMOND
Pre-season selections:
2 - Dylan Grimes (Northern Knights)
Rookie selections:
7 - Robert Hicks (Calder Cannons)
23 - Pat Contin (Glenelg)
38 - Relton Roberts (Northern Territory)
51 - Nicholas Westhoff (West Adelaide)
62 - Graham Polak (Richmond)
70 - Jamie O'Reilly (County Down, Ireland - International)

The Tigers added a good blend of players. Grimes was regarded as one of the most unlucky players not to be drafted in November. Hicks is a speedy ball-winner, Contin a running midfielder, Roberts a mature small forward from the Northern Territory and Westhoff a key forward like his Port Adelaide relatives. Irishman O'Reilly is likely to become a half-back/midfielder. The Tigers also redrafted Polak, who continues his career after a shocking head injury in 2008.
