To be honest I think we have lost the forest for the trees. Too much reliance on statistics rather than having the ability to see a player and know instinctively that he is going to be a star or at least a solid AFL player.
I along with a lot of other supporters see the draftees each year and look at the same highlights on You Tube and come up with completely different views to BH. This can't be coincidence, I think he reads too much into stats, almost like trying to find a formula that makes you a millionnaire on the stock market.
Sometimes I think a good recruiter goes on gut instinct and without blowing my own trumpet there are a number of players the club has passed over in recent times that I personally would have recruited and have turned out to be good selections for their respective club. Sure you are going to have the odd hit and miss but we simply have too many misses and to me that means we need an urgent revamp in the recruiting department.
What has BH got to do with recruiting the kids!! It's FJ!!
Blair is involved heavily in the recruitment of kids.
He rates them and is involved in all the discussions leading up to the draft. He sits on the draft table when making those last second decisions too.
There are videos showing the recruiting team discussing the recruitment of C. Ellis and Blair features heavily in them just to prove the point.
They are all to blame. I'll give Luke Williams a little slack because he has not been there long and I heard he may have had a hand in spotting Chol.
