David King actually stated to the media 2 years ago that JON was to be the surprise packet after the pre season that he had completed.
This was also said by David at a Coterie Function before Round 1

Correct weight jack...I was at the Club 80 function that night held at Birdie Num Nums in Carlton...said JON was flying...

As for people not remembering anything special of JON....correct me if i am wrong buy ddint he kick the winning point against the bombers at a Dreamtime game (possibly his first year/first game).

Lovely kid, with a great attitude.  I wish him all the best at WCE. I hope they can develop him, in ways that we never seemed to be able.

Lets hope we dont repeat this mistake with the current crop.

He did kick the winning point in that game.
It bearly scraped in for a point .
Same game Dean Polo was BOG and won the Glass Booomerang :thumbsup

FORGOTTEN Eagle Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls says he will approach the NAB Cup opener as though it was a home-and-away match and is desperate to play every pre-season game to prove his worth.

"When I was younger and I was getting games at Richmond I was a bit immature and just went out and ran around," he said.

"I know what's needed at that level now and I'm 23 so I know what to expect. I'm a bit more mature, know the game plan and can stick to it and go out and play footy.

"I'll grab every opportunity that I can. I'm looking forward to this weekend to be able to prove to myself and prove to other people that I can play at that level.

I agree that he was hopeless. But I meant unlucky by the fact he was taken by a club devoid of ANY development program, a crap coach and useless facilities. He most likely would have been useless regardless of which club but atleast he may have had a fighting chance at a club like Collingwood or Geelong. Great facilities, great developement etc.
