Topic = Hardwick tough, but not too tough: Riewoldt (RFC)

Stick to it and stop with the rubbish insults

PS Jack is over rated, if he was at the Cats noone would want to talk to him and Cats fans would most probably be less than impressed with those guns, compare 'em to about 30 other cats players.
Case of judging on potential not performance. It's a disease at Richmond

I certainly agree with all of that.
Jack Riewoldt has achieved very little in the game to date.
He's on par with his cousin at the same stage of his career

Classic case right there.
I'm actually not Riewolt's biggest fan, I haven't been 100% convinced of him as an AFL level player at all, however statistically he pretty much is on par with Nick at the same age

The yips he had last season really concerned me and it took several games for him to get over them. The previous season he was far more confident in front of goal.
Did the coaching staff dick around with his kicking technique? or was it a mindset thing? either way, I hope it has been resolved because he missed some pretty easy shots at goal last season. :banghead

Make or break year for Jack. Like the kid but needs more consistency. Needs to kick 50+ goals this season. Will be the main focus in the forward line and needs to be mentally prepared for it. Physicall he has the stature and his preseason has shown he is working hard.
If he can achieve this and live adequately with the burden of this responsibility will be a gun. If not he'll be a David Mensch or Steve Handley type of player who'll only excel when the heat of the game is gone and the result is done and dusted or when distinctly inferior opposition come to town.

Well interesting to read the two latest articles from King and Nahas regarding Hardwick, they both seem very impressed with Hardwick. Too tough or not sonds like he has the players respect and is doing something right... :thumbsup
DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

Can you take much out of those comments WAT? As players they can't say much else and i'm sure we would have got the same sought of stuff and the beginning of the Wallace era.

I'm not being critical of your comments because i have the same impression. Annoyingly we have to wait till the real stuff starts before we can start evaluating Dimma and his effect on the players. It is getting pretty close now though, gosh i can't wait, success or failure it will be entertaining either way...

Yeah I can see what you are talking about but I really think by the way they are talking.... well they talk about him with a real spring in their step if that makes any sense. Even Benny Gail talks about him the same way. I can't wait either and yes we will soon find out.... :thumbsup

Sadly it will all come crashing down after the knob opener against the Dawks in Tassie.
I am expecting nothing more.

That's the spirit CUB!  :whistle Is this your attempt to lower your own expectations so then any success we have will be a welcome surprise or is that that your true feelings?

The article on the AFL site where Hardwick is comparing our current state of development with Hawthorns 2004 list is a promising one while keeping supporters expectations in check. If we go on the Hawks timeline we will only jump up a couple of positions this year, have a crack at the finals in 2011 before have a tilt at the flag in 2013. I could live with this  :thumbsup

Dont like player-led revolts either unless there's something of substance to believe in
I'd love them to be successful, i get no joy in losses like this
and i admit it is early days and no-one shiuld be hung and quartered on this performance, but this was pathetic

It was pathetic but it sadly wasn't unexpected either. A premiership standard team from 18 months ago seeking redemption in their first hitout for the year against effectively a U23 side barring Tucky, Newy, Polly and Blingers off the top of my head. It's going to be another long year but we knew that already :-\
