This is his 4th year - it's absolute make or break.  Either he steps up significantly or he is gone.

I am a fan but agree with this. I found Connors 2009 very disappointing.
I am annoyed to read he's been back in the rehab group again of late because if anyone needs an uninterrupted pre season to make the most of his abilities it's Dan Connors. Prior to just recently the reports have been promising re his fitness but he really needs to get fair dinkum about his career. It's now or never.
If he bludges, I expect Hardwick will move him on pretty quick just as we have seen some of his peers punted at the end of 2009.
I expect 15 games. Big year coming up.

Well Connors seems to have had more people getting on his back then Polo did. Now you can use stats and games played all you like but if Connors can get it together he will be of more value to the team than Polo IMO.

Connors has more flair to his game, he is bigger, better skilled and he is from what I have seen, prepared to take the game on. Yes he was injured and yes this is his first pre-season and IMO look out Polo.

Connors isn't bigger than Polo and is hardly better skilled. Dan's foot skills aren't that special, it's his footy smarts and like you said, flair to his game that he has as strengths. Polo has had more injuries in his time at Richmond than Connors, too. Why should Polo be worried about Connors? They don't play the same role. Actually, Polo played twice as many games this season than what Dan has in his whole career.

Connors have this season to show something or he's just another talented play who couldn't get his poo together.

I agree with most people here....Its a case of "Sink or swim" this year for Dan.

Likewise Polo IMO. Also Connors looked a lot bigger when I saw them standing next to each other live and don't forget that Connors was doing the extra training last year with Cotch and Reiwoldt pushing himself too far and unable to complete the pre season or start the season.

Look out Polo alright, where they played or where they can play means nothing to Harwick, they will play the role he wants them to play and IMO Connors could easily play Polos role.

With all due respect most of the time you would have seen Dan play is via the TV (not your fault obviously) but I have watched "live" many many times running arond for Coburg and one of the things you mention as his strength can actually be his biggest weakness and that is taking the game on. Too many times he does that instead of doing the team orientated things which may explain why he spends so much at Coburg  ;D

For mine one of his biggest problems is his lack of defensive pressure. Doesn't chase enough IMHO or fight hard enough to keep the ball in his area....

And I would put money on it that this will be Hardwick's #1 KPI.

Actually WP I meant "live" when I saw the both of them in the changerooms together and then again leaving to get on the bus and then in the change rooms again before the bounce, but thats my opinion of their size difference and they may have changed. and again this is a player like Polo this year, we will just have to wait and see how it pans out. I just think Connors has a lot to offer, but as I said in my first post it's up to him to choose whether or not he can play to his full potential.

Just for the record, Polo was 3cm taller and 1kg heavier last season.  Actually, Polo is 187cm tall and I would never have guessed that.

rubbish, connors lack of conditioning is very dissapointing. He dosn't look muscled at all, has looked pudgy and soft for most of his time at richmnd. If he doesn't hit round 1 with some conditioning in his arms and upper body then hes a lazy prick as well to go with fat & unfit.
I'll be honest I have no time for this bloke

Thats fine and thats YOUR OPINION, I like the guy , well the way he goes about it. Like I said when I saw him he was quite big and from a few training reports on various forums he has bulked up so believe what you will. Lets hope he can make it eh!! BTW how do you know he is a "fat lazy prick" as you say Just because he may not hit round one bigger.????

4th yr he needs to show he belongs or he goes.
imo theres been to much lair and not rnough plain hard work.
chuck him  to hb and lets see if that doesnt keep him switched on.

he's been in an afl environment for 4 preseasons now, if he still looks pudgy and soft come rnd 1 with barely any muscle definition i think thats pretty self exlanatory yes? I hope he makes it bc he has some flair, I'm just not a fan, think he's let himself and the cub down.

Totally agree that he has let himself and the club down, but lets hope he turns the corner because I think he can be an asset.

he has diddly squat, needs to pull his head out of his backside and play to team rules and structures or out the door.
