Application.
Dedication.
Hard work ethic.
Consistency.

Has the talent but without the aforementioned just another player with potential.

DC's biggest problem is he likes the party life tooooo much! Have seen him out way to many times for a bloke that needs to be doing everything right just to make it at AFL level.
Like a lot of players at Tigerland, nice guy but IMO has not got the dedication needed. He will realise what he had when it's gone.
Shame because i think he could have been something.

Also i agree with some other comments on his body not being where it should be after 4 years on the list. Just another example of his attitude i think.

Playing devil’s advocate.
Is he totally to blame here, should the club step in and speak to him about his life style or even more so is Wallace to blame somewhat. I know he has had injuries and a few games in between, but if he wasn’t either given the chance to play consistently or spoken to by Wallace about why he wasn’t getting chosen, when it has been documented that Wallace really didn’t communicate with a lot of the players, and that he needed to step up.
Surely that would have been detrimental to his attitude not just towards the club and playing football but his whole outlook on life.
Going one step further.
You have to wonder if what I have written above has any truth, and this is only MY opinion.  How much of the under achievement of various players both on field as well as the lack physical size on our list have suffered from the same fate.

hmm another slant. he was pick what 67 or so.  what do we expect from pick 67 did he last to pick 67 for a reason.

how many picks in the 60s plus play 150 games. perhaps he is what he is and most of us including me have expectations that are too high.

In a long winded way that is pretty much what I was getting at TC. I just felt it needed a little more clarification, even if it is just hypothetical. Or just a disillusioned fans reasoning.

Nah, dont judge him on possesions, which were short and sideways, his turnovers were terrible, and his handballs to teamates put them under more pressure,
These guys dont realise, you handball to RELEASE, not to put under pressure

Well I think he played pretty well, better than Polo anyway.

In all honesty Polo looked like a train wreck last night IMO, his decision making and skill level was.. ???. Everyone was saying how good he was going and how much better he was or is than Connors, well I know it's the first game but I did not see anything last night that proved that theory right. BTW Connors played played 100 times better than Polo last night, he had one horror turn ovr but other than that he was a shining light in a ....... you know.

Was the expression on his face in the coach's box an experiment as well, I think not. Look we all knew a win in this game was not likely but we hoped. What I did not want to see was an absolute shelacking or any injuries and guess what. Regarding Polo, he has had plenty of time to be ok, what we saw with him last night is about as good as it gets with him I am afraid, Edwards dito.

Connors was decent.

I was saddened by Rance  :(
